Why is boxing commentary so bad?

Announcers used to be fair and call the games purely by what happened without being corporate shills pushing the company line. John Madden was the beginning of the end of those days. In my opinion the best announcer of all time was Pat Summerall. His best partner by a mile was Tom Brookshier. Summerall was an ex football player, but could and did announce almost any sport just as well.

 

The commentators who call it like they see it like Paulie and Teddy Atlas find themselves out of a job these days. If you do not tow the company line you are out.

 

Wasn't a fan of the magic man at the time but now I look back he had a solid take most of the time.
