Calzaghe would have handled all those fighters but we dont know if Hopkins or Jones would have handled Eubank. I doubt Hopkins would have and Jones was a cheat
Hopkins lost fool This content is protected 1. Calzaghe landed more than 100 punches than Hopkins throughout the fight. 2. Contrary to what people want to believe, Calzaghe also made Hopkins miss more 3. All round punch percentages, Calzaghe finished ahead of Hopkins 4. Calzaghe outlanded Hopkins in every round 5. A Byrd who scored for Hopkins it appears has a history for bad scorecards. Type in Adalaide Byrd in Google and see what comes up for yourself, still here are some little things for you to look at a. A Byrd was the only judge out of the 3 scoring judges that had Mack ahead against Cloud b. The K Pavlik - A Lopez fight was scored 98-92, 99-91 by the other 2 judges, A Byrd scored it 95-95 c. A Byrd was one of the judges that had Morales a 4 point loser against Maidana d. In the S Aydin vs S Ouali fight, the other 2 judges scored clearly for Aydin. Byrd scored for Ouali e. The J Almaraz/C Tyler fight was scored a Maj-Dec all because of one judge, guess which? A Byrd f. The A DeMarco/J Reyes fight was a SD. Guess who the odd judge out was? A Byrd. g. The R Torres - M Arnaoutis fight was a close fight, a point either way to 2 judges but a wide result scored by Byrd h. In the A Pryor Jr/D Stanislavjevic SD, guess who the odd judge out was? You guessed it... A Byrd i. The W Ferguson/J Lopez SD, guess who the odd judge out was? You guessed it... A Byrd I think thats enough for you to get the picture with Byrd. Remember the other 2 judges scored clearly for Calzaghe 6. Calzaghe beat Hopkins in America, at a new weight with 3 American judges and Cortez as ref. 7. Calzaghe scored the single highest score card against Hopkins ever 116-111. 8. The 2 judges that scored for Calzaghe agreed on 9 of the rounds 9. Calzaghe landed more on Hopkins than anyone ever. Now I know there will be a flood of people coming on here noting Hopkins scoring a flash KD in the first round, and I agree that Hopkins did win a few rounds even when he didnt land as often, but people are mad if they think Calzaghe won on workrate, Calzaghe won because he was able to land his left more often than Hopkins could land his right. Calzaghe finished the stronger and took away the moments Hopkins likes down the stretch. Other thoughts, If Hopkins thought he was winning, do you think he would have been looking for time out and would bother trying to get points deducted off of Calzaghe, of course he wouldnt, Hopkins knew he was losing. What I do note is that nobody seems to mind Hopkins lost to Taylor. In the first Hopkins/Taylor fight, Jermaine was badly hurt and Hopkins looked the stronger at the end, yet it seems to upset alot of these people that Calzaghe beat Hopkins. Appears very biased.
steve collins maintains that his trainers gave him the wrong tactics & if he had boxed his natural game he felt he would have beaten mccallum. i seem to recall a story about the bodysnatcher agreeing with this...but i'm not 100% on that. the petronelli's may have been good trainers but they were all wrong for collins & he was a better fighter after he left them.
hopkins was happy fighting welterweights and the lispeys, hakkars, councils of this world in front of a delusional, brainwashed nation. hell, they were even prepared to sit through 3 fights with the greater robert allan toney was going life and death with bums and then continually juicing on anabolic steroids and jones was also taking banned anabolic steroids whilst hbo were paying him millions to fight the likes of Fermin Chirino, Danny Garcia,Antoine Bird, Vinny Pazienza, Tony Thornton, Eric Lucas, Bryant Brannon, Lou Del Valle, Otis Grant, Richard Frazier, David Telesco, Richard Hall, Derek Harmon, Glen Kelly, Prince Badi Ajamu, Anthony hamshaw only in american could a country be so deluded and narrow minded by the brainwashing the got fed by ring comic magazine and the HBO comedy channel - you can smell the ignorance of every american (well, just 95% of them) on these boards a mile off :rofl
it never gets old seeing this same post over and over again. here's the compubox numbers for the fight. your #2 fact, hopkins missed more compared to who/what? your #3 fact is a lie. hopkins had a higher percentage of landed punches in the 6th and 8th rounds and even in the 2nd. http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:1273237 - click on reference number to see stats. your "facts" on byrd doesn't mean she was wrong on those fights. again, i was at the pavlik fight and she was the only judge who was close to the actual fight. joe outworked bhop to get the decision. that's why he took this fight. it was a style matchup that benefited joe. bhop was 43 yrs old was throwing much less than earlier in his career. both fighters were unimpressive at best and this is probably the worst fight i've ever attended.
after a huge post full of facts, thats the best you can come up with :rofl the only thing that annoys brits is the delusion and narrow minded brainwashing that your gullable, insular, ignorant citizen's swallow on a daily basis :deal your the country that calls your baseball finals "the world series"
the definition of facts must be different where your from. from a boxing perspective, a lot of americans hate brit fighters and brit fans because we have to hear the hype of every effing fighter that shows any potential. lennox is the only true great to come from the uk in the past few years. also, i believe the overall iq of the uk is equal to that of the US and we have a lot more people. your hate towards america is typical. i'll make sure to notify homeland security.
Thank you so much 4 the attention & the reply. With all due respect and no further to do, let me go to each and every point taken so that we can speak freely and accurately. I never did what the other so-called posters have done and that is pointing out the so-called greatness of Toney's achievements. Actually, it is clearly evident that even today Toney himself has sour and bitter words about others b'cause he has not done as well as he could or as he desired. What took place in my pov was that JT disregarded British fighters and never gave them a chance to prove themselves against him such as Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank and Steve Collins. Other than that, the man faced great opponents in Michael Nunn, Mike McCallum, Tim Littles, Roy Jones jr and others, doped or not and Mike McCallum not only stopped Watson like he beat Collins. Concerning life and death results Toney gat, please let's not go that way or else we have to talk about Reid, we gat to talk about people booing Joe on the undercard of Tyson-Francis against Starie, and the life and death rumble between Joe and Byron Mitchell... Even James went life and death with Tim Littles and Bernard Hopkins went with Mercado, what's the great deal about it? They are, in my opinion past peak Mike may have won the first fight but the facts are that he clearly beat one 25 year old Collins by scores of 118-110 at the age of 33. My "bull****" argument is based on the fact that Calzaghe never faced the opposition Collins did and the way he did, in the States - Collins was a solid jaw, compact, movable boxer, hard puncher who took bombs and hooked according to law, with his punching muscles and not just with his arms... Collins didn't face Calzaghe alright but he definitely beat the best out of the british SMWs twice against either Eubank ( when he was undefeated) and Nigel Benn, thinking that Michael Watson lost to McCallum and Eubank, whereas Calzaghe beat Eubank and that is just about it. You can hardly make an argument for Calzaghe concerning Collins either. In 2002, Bernard Hopkins was undisputed MW Champion and had mega million dollar paydays ahead like against Hoya ( another MW title, 4 the WBO), not to mention that he was making mandatory defenses of the undisputed MW title and had beat Carlos Monzon 14 times defenses. You can argue that Calzaghe was making mandatory defenses of his WBO SMW title himself. Either man defended their titles for some record breaking 20 times. The point is why would Hopkins have stepped up to face Calzaghe back then when Calzaghe was not to have come down to 160 pounds? Calzaghe was supposed to travel outside of Wales to take on american opponents but Frank W never made him travel to the States to fight before 2008 and Brewer had to come down to Cardiff in 2002 and Mitchell in 2003. Bottom line, Hopkins would have come up to face Jones in 2002 but not to face Calzaghe in Wales, it has to do with numbers and recognition. In the end, it was Calzaghe to travel and face a well past peak Hopkins in one of his last fights. My final opinion or presumption or whatever you want to call it, even if you call complete BS my 'fighter A, beat fighter B, so would give fighter C trouble' logic, it is the best I can find for you and you would find it reasonable if you would think non-partial about it... This is another one for you- If Sugar Boy Malinga gave trouble to the well established Nigel Benn who created his name out of wars such as against Barkley and McLelland and the same Thulani Malinga was demolished by a peak Jones in the US, then a young Calzaghe would have been wiped out the same way. Happens that Malinga went there in 1993 and Calzaghe won his title in 1997. We can't compare individuals and talk about outcomes across the sands of time.
I dont understand. Wasn't calzaghe, Eubanks last or second last opponent b4 he retired? So wen they met he was only a semi rotted corpses as opposed to rjj the fully rotted one.
So really ottke is the rightful top10 atg and not calzaghe..... Well if we use the "calzaghe defense " he is.
your above posts have been ripped to shreds by every other sucker.y the **** would i need to smash you aswell??it all boils down to the fact of what i said..hes not american...same with the brothers klit..if your not american you seem to have alot of haters in this sport...now **** off you ****
