Why is Canelo not getting more criticism for fighting Yildrim?

Canelo is a joke and he continues to pepper us with joke fights. Yildrim's Canelo's former sparring partner who has been two years out of the ring and fought/won against absolute no one to justify his position anywhere in the rankings let alone as mandatory. This is just blatant WBC-Canelo collusion for an easy fight /show case for Canelo.

The fact he is possibly fighting a trash can 168 version of Billy Joe in May does not in any way justify this fight

Canelo remains p4p no. 1 fraud of all time in front of Floyd.

Golovkin, considered the number 1 at 160
Smith, considered the number 1 at 168
Kovalev, considered the number 1 at 175

I wouldn't say they were "joke fights"... have a word with yourself, you may not like him but you can't knock his resume.

 

Well he did beat Smith in December, is fighting in Feb and wants BJS in May and Plant in Sep.

Can’t argue with that really. If he wanted 2 fights a year I’d be *****d but no issue with mandatorys when active.

 

He's not getting praise here as far as I can see. It's obvious that Yildirim is a big stiff waiting to be knocked over. Eubank already took him to the cleaners and it wasn't pretty. Yavni is tough and hits hard but that's the extent of his abilities. If Golovkin was fighting him there would be howls of outrage.

 

Yeah this criticism makes a lot of sense if you ignore reality in order to criticize Canelo at all times.

Otherwise it's an active fighter taking a mandatory fight in between a busy roster of top opposition. Completely pedestrian occurence but since its Canelo let's have 20 threads about it

 

You absolutely can knock his resume. In fact you'd be foolish to not knock it? Are you really going to base your analysis of corrupt agencies branding guys as "no. 1 fighter".. It doesn't mean anythijg if you understand context.

Smith - took the fight with two months notice after Canelo saw how terrible he was against Ryder. Smith camp even shared prior to the fight they struggled to find sparring partners.. This all paired with the fact Smith has never been any good anyway (just have a look at his resume) He has rarely shown a good jab and forward pressure and he literally let Canelo walk towards him and tee off on him.. I also saw minimal aggressiveness on Smiths punches throughout. That's not the sign of good fighter or a fighter who was paid to win.

Kovalev - obvious fix is obvious

Jacobs - boring fight with Jacobs inexplicably throwning nothing for the first 6 rounds. And no it wasn't because "he was afraid of Canelo's counters". Even then he still won 5 rounds. That said, Jacobs has shown his level against Rosado

GGG - 36 yo and GGG won clearly in a competitive fight (yes you can have these at the same time)

Canelo is a fraud who cherrypicks are insanely detailed.

 

Delusional to think Canelo has been fighting top opposition.. He cherrypicks and stacks everything in his favour so yeah the criticism makes absolute sense if you are able to see through the bull****

 

Why should nelo get stick. It's the WBC that ordered this fight so blame then.

Kovalev wasn't considered number 1 at 175.

 

Only good opponent in there was GGG. Smith phoned it in and Kov was a shell of his former self by then. Who considered him above the new boogie man Bietberev or even Bivol at the time?

Canelo is a guy who feels he's done enough and now wants easy work for high pay and **** you if you don't like it. He's in a position to do it. Half of Mexico will tune in to watch him do a cooking show if he decided to do that.

 

Not one person has given this fight any credit

Everyone has said its a poor fight....

If anyone deserves a gimme fight it's Canelo. His last fight was Smith and next will be Saunders.

Not forgetting the WBC called this fight.

Fighters need to take there mandatory opponents. They may not be good enough but mandatory opponents are there for a reason.

 

Because it was meant to be a homecoming fight, is a mandatory and Canelo is very active fighting excellent opposition. If he wasn't fighting, could hardly complain about BJS in May and him not fighting at all.
