yeah, the funny thing is, canelo fans have been accusing floyd of ducking a canelo rematch...this is after floyd completely dominated canelo and beat canelo like a stepchild. these same jokers wanna act like lara is wrong to demand a rematch when lara clearly beat canelo's a88.

"Lara won a convincing 8-4 decision on my card and in the opinion of most fight fans"

This is proof that people see what they want to see.

I thought Lara won, but I certainly didn't have any doubts where the scorecards were going to go. It was a close fight. Lara moved in most of the rounds, but he flat out ran in a few of them just gifting those rounds to Canelo. It was always going to be an uphill battle to get the judges to side with him (against the star) and he wasted his shot. Obviously he had no chance with one judge (9-3 was a joke), that one was always going to Canelo.

In the end, its a tough fight that most fans don't want to see again after the all out non-action in the first fight. Nobody wants to see a bunch of movement and a few clean counter lefts from one fighter and a bunch of semi-effective body punching from the other fighter with no head shots. I personally wouldn't mind seeing it again, but that certainly puts me in the minority.

Canelo is the star. He is the draw and he already took the low upside fight one time. Why would he do it again at this point? Lara/Canelo didn't make for an exciting fight the first time. Lara doesn't bring anything to the table financially. Lara is a tough fight. High risk, little reward.

Close fight, though I thought Canelo edged it. But the fight was just plain awful, Lara literally ran, I've never accused any fighter of running but he was so passive he would literally leap away and get 10 feet between himself and Canelo. Nobody would pay to see another fight with Lara. There is no demand for this fight at all.

Irrelevant, I thought Lara would beat Canelo easily just like Floyd but in reality he ran all night.

so, you're saying if you don't KO canelo you don't deservea rematch with him?

most fans thought lara won...this is not like dlh-whitaker/qartey where an argument could be made both ways...this was one guy, taking the other guy to school...and beacuse he was not "exciting" in doing so (because only canelo is allowed a pass for being unexciting) and didn't score a KO, he gets robbed and doesn't even get a rematch.

what pisses me off is the same people saying "no rematch" for this one are the same folks clamoring for a floyd-canelo rematch in a fight that was just as boring beause it was so one-sided...it's hothing but excuses for canelo and guys trying to protrect him from an ass-whipping because the can see how limited he is. if you want to know I GREATLY enjoyed the fight and would LOVE to see what adjustments lara would make in a rematch now he knows how flat-footed and slow canelo is...but that's part of the problem, right?....is that lara would probably KO him in a rematch.l

where do people ASSUME there is no demand for a rematch here? that's just some cowardly excuses to run from a rematch. canelo LOST!...got beat! you're gonna tell me people don't want to see that again with the mexican star gettting outclassed and possibly KO'd? trust me, a LOTTA people wanna see it.

Canelo aint running from a rematch - he is running toward the much bigger paydays. The fight was certainly Lara's to win -bye had his chance - but why on earth he chose to run so much I have no idea. He was fighting and counter punching so well at times he was totally schooling canelo and was looking great. Then he'd get on his bike and gift the round away. IMO the fight could be scored either way but I am not interested in an immediate rematch either - it was interesting but dissapointing and not a great fight to watch. Would much prefer to see Canelo v cotto or ggg. Where Lara goes from here I don't know - has all the talent in the world but needs to fight for 12 rounds and quit the coasting if he wants to win the big fights.

Thats disrespectful to UFC fans like me .

Canelo clearly lost that fight . Everyone knows he didnt do enough .

Lara was the better man . Canelo was outboxed/outlanded

    116-112 Lara .

Former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero is one of many people who believe that Lara did enough to deserve a win over Canelo last Saturday night.

“I watched @Laraboxing fight in Mexico yesterday and mostly everyone including me thought he beat Canelo. #Boxing #Rematch,” Guerrero said on his twitter.

There’s a quite a few people who feel that Lara deserved at least a draw out of the fight, if not a victory, because Canelo didn’t do enough to show that he was a clear cut winner.

Former WBA lightweight champion Ray Mancini thinks that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (44-1-1, 31 KOs) is an ordinary fighter with marginal skills, and that he should have been given a defeat in his fight against Erislandy Lara this month.
Mancini, like many other boxing experts, feels that Lara out-boxed Canelo for 12 rounds, but ultimately lost the fight to the house fighter, the guy that brings in more money for the sport of boxing.

“Canelo’s an ordinary fighter, there’s nothing special about him,” Mancini said to Boxing Channel. “Lara won the fight as far as I’m concerned. Lara gave him a boxing lesson. There’s a thing called ring generalship. But he [Lara] don’t sell two tickets. Canelo’s the house fighter, he got that. It’s better for business. It’s called show business. But Lara won the show. His [Canelo] trainers, nice guys, don’t know anything. In the Mayweather fight, they told him nothing. They were exposed, he was exposed. In the Lara fight, they didn’t tell him anything different. Every time Lara threw a punch down the middle, he caught him. He [Canelo] ain’t learning nothing. He’s a power guy. Put a guy in front of him, he’ll knock down a building. The guys that move give him problems.”

Mancini basically thinks Canelo was given a decision over Lara that he didn’t deserve and that he was exposed once again and shown to be a limited fighter.

It’s surprising how many people feel that Lara should have been given the win. The short list is Mancini, Teddy Atlas and Paulie Malignaggi, but there obviously many more notable guys that saw Canelo lose. Golden Boy Promotions needs to realize that Canelo won a controversial decision and that they need to put him back in the ring rather than having him move on from this tainted win.
