Why is "ducking low" not penalized in boxing?

    It makes for an ugly fight. IMO, they should be penalized for it.

    In most cases they are penalized for it when they're not the house/favorited fighter.
    Same with holding and other 'crafty' tactics.

    I box amatuer in England and it's not allowed, points can get taken off for it.

    It's illegal to duck below the waist of your opponent but it's such a minor infraction that it seems many refs just ignore it unless it is done excessively.

    the guy price was fighting sat was duckin low...traine told him "hesduckin low jst time it and smack him" he did and was game over......why would duckin low be illegal?

    because you are aloud to duck punches, there no scale to say you can duck but you can duck that low. or you can duck but you cant duck low that stupid :-(

    ducking is a part of boxing, and only guys would defense know about it.

    Im ok with it...as long as the other guy doesnt get dq'd or point deduction for a punch in the back of the head.

    If a fighter CHOOSES to do that he should be fair game. If they get tangled and spun around then it should be illegal.
