I remember reading a press conference before Judah-Mayweather where Floyd has a quote "take his belt and give it back to him" .. in the sense that Mayweather would beat Judah for the

, then vacate.. which is what he did. So it was probably a pride thing, as what's more insulting than beating the champion and vacating the new title you just won?

well I guess what he did to Mosley .. not paying the fee, and making the WBA title vacant after beating Mosley

favoritism isn't a shocker, I've def read statements about Floyd on this issue before. But Floyd shouldn't be so vocal about not needing the belts as he's still fighting for one this weekend.

Like I said he wanted to fight Judah because everybody said that Judah had a chance. It was supposed to be for undisputed WW champ but Judah lost to Baldomir the fight before. I remember everybody saying Mayweather should still fight Judah even though he lost to Baldmoir so he did. Baldmor didnt pay the santiong fee for the IBF or WBA so they went vacant and somehow Judah got to keep his IBF belt.

Mayweather doesnt need belts like he says, hes just getting back the one he gave up before he retired, thats all

how desperate can people get with these old desperate quotes just cause they dont like floyd

judah fight was ages ago, things change people change and the truth is belts dont mean ****

look how they created a new one in the heavyweight division the other day just because nobody could beat a klit...

all that matters is what happens in the ring!

I'm aware of the circumstances of Judah-Mayweather .. you don't have to go boxing historian on me

Zab was undisputed at Welter (held IBF, WBA, WBC) and in line to fight Mayweather, but he lost a tune up to Baldomir in NYC beforehand. Since Baldy only paid the sanctioning fee for the WBC, it was the only major title Baldy kept.

I did a lot of reading on this back in the day, because I was just getting into boxing at the time and it didn't make sense. How could Baldomir beat Judah for the undisputed but only pick up one belt (paid only one sanctioning fee) .. again that was something I had to seek out and find myself

and I know the sense in going after the WBC, as I said a page earlier Victor Ortiz has the title that was originally Mayweather's .. which Berto won vacant after Mayweather retired

another minor thing and something new to add ... the Mayweather-Mosley fight had a rematch clause in it.

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2010/04/floyd-mayweather-jr-shane-mosley-boxing.html

obviously rematch clauses are common, as **** can happen, i.e. draw, headbutt or what not

but a rematch clause with the WBA Champ, when you're not even going for the belt. I just found that kinda funny

It's the belt the fans most know and love. Floyd loves to please his fans.
