I think it does get talked about whenever he's mentioned.

Quickest hands in the divisions history.

  4. Floyd Patterson in general doesn't get mentioned enough but having fast hands is almost synonymous with his name IMO.

I really just thought that having that much speed would get him more talked about but i guess his losses to Liston somehow blunted that, really sucks though he never really gets talked about much

Nah mate he was good, Faster hands in combinations than Tyson.

For me hand-speed at HW it's close between Ali, Patterson, RJJ, and then Tyson.

I think anytime anyone says something positive about Patterson it is first off "great/good/nice/honorable guy"...but as far as boxing related..it is always speed....I think it gets mentioned a fair amount.

I agree with you, fastest combination puncher at heavyweight in history. Guys like Ali could match his speed with single punches, but in combination Patterson was unmatched. Tyson comes close to Patterson in speed with combination punching, though. As does Ali.

By the mid sixties his speed had largely left him though he was still as fast as say Ellis or Quarry. The combo's he blazed against Archie Moore were as fast as a heavy is going to get though!

It does get mentioned along with his being a gentleman out of the ring.

There isn't much else good about the guy to talk about.

He was a weak champion and deserves to be forgotten.
