which 3 tougher fights are these???

Do you mean Golota - I suppose he was tough for Bowe - Lewis showed him how to make a fight with Golota not so tough.

All against the same guy but still I think his three fights against Holyfield are stiffer compitition then any three of Lewis's fights.

Lewis looked great to me in the first Holyfield fight and didn't have anything to worry about unlike Bowe who got hurt a few times by a prime Holyfield. The second fight was closer and 7-5 for Lewis at the least but the first fight was a 10-2 or 9-3, nothing else. Lewis looked better in the first fight than Bowe did with Holyfield in either fight of their trilogy but Bowe's first win over Holy ranks higher just because he fought a better Holyfield. Holyfield looked off to me in the third fight and was ill or something like that I believe(heart condition?) and looked better in the LL/Holy rematch.

Holyfield in the first fight fought the wrong fight and Holyfield in the 3rd fight was diabolical - many decent heavyweights would have beaten that Holyfield
And Bowes next 2 fights after that were much tougher, he eeked out 2 DQ wins.

The second fight Bowe was doing good up till the paraglider comming in. His wife being hosptlized after the incident while pregnent may have distracted him. In the third fight Holyfield was maybe not at his best but the same can be said for when he was in the ring with Lewis.

I just find it hard to believe Bowe did not fight Lewis because he was afraid he would lose. He did not show that trait during his career i don't think.

Foreman did better against Frazier and Norton than Ali did, by far.

And Tyson did far better against Holmes than Butterbean did, but I think we all know how that one turned out.

With Butterbean knocking out Mike in the parking lot when Mike challenged him in order to gain respect, as well as being driven by an urge to extract revenge against Butterbean for holding back his career.

And to think Mike thought he'd have an easy go of it after Butterbean was told he could never box again on account of permanent brain damage suffered in a brutal fight for national pride against the commies, and their representative fighter, Chief Jay Strongbow.

Lewis boxed / beat the **** outta Holy in fight # 1 of '99, but was screwed blue on the cards with a shitty draw....:twisted::blood

Lewis boxed Holy to death in fight # 2 for 8 of the 12 rds, but was too cautious and did get nailed by Holy somewhere in the 5th or 6th rds if memory is serving me correctly. At any rate, part # 2 stunk since neither came to take chances.. Lewis was clearly ahead on points after 12 so-so rds of PPV boxing....:-(:)deal:bbb

Holy never came close to beating Lewis.....:-(

The reason why Holy's fights with Bowe are more exciting is, Bowe was sloppy on defense and lazy in conditioning, plus he was also a warrior who was willing to allow emotions take over rather than skill, savvy and guile.....:yep

Lewis was simply a better fighter and man than Bowe.....:hi:

I think with Lennox, Evander was good at getting jabbed and then ducking follow up punches and throwing back, keeping Evander respectful. Bowe did not jab as much, so he got Evander to fight on the inside and to use his jab more, but still Evander would fight on the inside and get hit more by the stronger Bowe, which hurt Evander. Bowe suckered him into fighting his fight more than Lennox did. But Lennox was greater than Bowe.

I think Holyfield was up and down a lot. He was beaten convincingly in the first fight but made to dig deep in rematch.

Bowe beat Holy comfortably, scoring knockdown in first fight, but lost rematch and then pulled third fight out with one punch.

He was motivated in the second fights with both and beat Bowe and almost beat Lewis.

Bowe dumped his belt in trash bin rather than fight Lewis. Nuff said.

Bowe at his best was as good as anyone. It is just that his best was such a short period of time which he also wasted. He really should have fought Lewis insteed of Dokes and Ferguson.

Ridiculous statement to say Bowe did better against a prime Holyfield than Lennox did against a past it Holyfield.

How many times did Lewis lose to Holyfield? Answer never.
How many times did Bowe lose to Holyfield? Answer once.

How many times did Lewis get dropped by Holyfield? Answer never.
How many times did Bowe get dropped by Holyfield? Answer once.

In the first Lewis/Holyfield fight, Lewis dominated Holyfield in a manner that Bowe was never able to do.

It's interesting how lewis and bowe hit the heavyweight scene at different times.

Bowe fought the fight of his life vs holyfield and was never the same again. Lewis had a habit of falling into a pattern which sometimes led to a boring matchup.

In 94 we'd have seen the most competitive match up between these two imo. But then lewis lost and it took a while for him to recover and get back to top.

Because 1991 Evander fought Bowe's fight and only weighed 205lbs, Lennox fought a much stronger 217lb smarter Holyfield. We saw Bowe get ouboxed in the rematch, Lennox at 33/34 beat Holyfield both times

Using 1 similar opponent to judge a match up doesn't work anyway. What about Golota, why did Lennox take the man out in a round that hammered the boxing career out of Bowe? I mean this is the same Bowe that just beat Holyfield, which is supposedly the benchmark, so he can't be too far past it at 29??
