Why is it that Hatton is finished but Cotto isn't?

Hatton is finished because for years he's been ballooning to 175lbs+ between fights.
The wear and tear of constantly cutting 35lbs+ has taken it's toll.

This too he didnt completely commit to boxing.
You need to be focused on technique and not cutting weight

Both are finished fighting pound for pound fighters.

Cotto suffered more by virtue of prolonged beatdown.

The Margarito and Pac fights were beatdown.

Hatton simply does not have the skill to fight Mayweather or Pac, but those were not beatdown.

Howeever, they can probably still win against second tiers. Example - Cotto could still beat Judah

Cotto is clearly fighting on a much higher level.

I don't think Cotto is finished. He has skill and can box, Hatton can't.
