He looked a bit like he had lost some fire in the last few fights, and was often "going through the motions" in interviews etc. He was looking less in shape (which I'd been vocal about) and had a lot of other things going on in life as well. None of this seems to be the case, now. He's the underdog, people are counting him out and it sounds like its put the spark back into his relationship with boxing. He's apparently already <109kg/240lb which puts him in better shape than he was against Ruiz, Fury and Cojanu. He is the underdog, him winning is not the most likely outcome, but I think he is being underestimated.
Joshua is basically 'Tall Timber' who has put on extra muscle. Naturally lean and lanky. Parker is thick and squat - but much taller than those types usually are. This is why Parker is so confident. He LOVES the tall timber and he will take Joshua OUT. His Body type makes him perfect for Joshua - and Wilder too.
Parker's chin should keep him in it long enough for him to ask Joshua some questions he has rarely been asked. I might take a interest bet on Parker at the odds being offered.
The 1/10 isn't a bet if Parker will nick a round or two vs. AJ (which is what you mean by 'giving problems like Takam'), but on winning. What you should ask is not 'Will Parker be competitive a couple rounds' but 'Does Parker have the odds stacked in his favor here'?
Case could be made that Parker already has three losses. Also like Parker's mum pointed out, Joshua is very big and muscular.
He was only cycling to keep fit, not even in camp when AJ gave him the call. Hence "dragged off a bike"...
I think some people are going to make a lot of money on betting on Parker I am picking Parker to beat Joshua by late TKO I think he is going to bring a bigger threat than most think
Parker will beat Joshua by tko, he won't get knocked out cold but the referee will stop it while Joshua is on the ropes getting battered.
Takam fought Joshua on short notice. Had Joshua had a camp for Takam, he would of had less problems. Parker isn't all that. He seems fairly vanilla.
He also just as easily could have lost the fight against Fury & Ruiz. Both went in his favor luckily, but if he fights like he did when he won the title against Ruiz or defending against Fury his luck wont hold, and based off those fights and the fact that he hasn't been able to hurt or stop anyone with a pulse & and just edged Takam on points (a guy who AJ just dominated and stopped) I believe are pretty decent reasons for being such a big underdog.
Who would have thought Buster Douglas was going to KO Tyson ?? Joseph just might leave you all with egg on your faces
