Why is Rigondeaux ducking his mandatory Scott Quigg?

There's a reason Ramos is (was?) managed by Haymon. He was an excellent amateur with good talent and athleticism. He just hates to get hit. Regardless he's failed at the level Quigg hasn't touched yet. And for sure would be favored against that version of Munroe.

 

Don't make me laugh. He lost every second of every round against Shimoda before a lucky punch, and then after he lost to Rigondeaux he got a robbery decision against a club fighter and lost his fight after that against a club fighter.

I would favour Ramos over anyone in the top 50 of that division.

 

It wasn't a robbery at all. Have you even seen it? I have it on tivo, it was just on solo boxeo replay on saturday, really good fight. His opponent was undefeated through the telefutura circuit, good amateur too. Who has Quigg beaten except a washed up Munroe that's better? Not that I'm sure that Munroe was better. Hell, on paper Molitor is a better win than either Munroe or Ramos.

That doesn't mean he's a mandatory, and at this point, there isn't one. Quigg just won the interim title, and usually there's about a 6 month lag between winning interim and getting named mandatory. I doubt Quigg's team is in a rush for that fight anyway.
