 Hey captain obvious...of course it probably be taken more serious. But it's NOT a gurantee they would meet. And if getting Calzaghe and Jones together is the main goal, matching them with dangerous guys isn't the way.

BTW, you can keep ending your posts with that snobby buill****, but you're stil the phony **** who posted someone elses abs as his. :rofl:rofl

Wow really!!! And PacDbest picked Donaire!! You two are the BEST EVER!!! :rofl

BTW, how do you even know that you're the only guy? You accused me of picking Bika to beat Calzaghe...so obviously reading comp or recollection isn't your strong point. Kissing your own ass, is, however. :yep

Blocky, you're cool with me!:good You roll with the punches. RESPECT. I was really expecting you to be mad, but you took that with a grain of salt. Even if your boxing analysis is off, you're cool with me...you're not a troll:thumbsup

Good point. Had JC dominated Hopkins, RJJ would've probably ducked out of it. But then again, maybe he would've pulled a DLH/Tito and just taken it for the money even though he knew he would lose.

But here's why i think RJJ feels confident going up against Calzaghe.

First and foremost, the last type of fighter he wants to face is someone who can take him out. Whether that's a pressure fighter with decent power (Glen Johnson) or a one punch KO guy (Tarver). Calzaghe is a high workrate guy but RJJ knows that Calzaghe will never be able to hurt him. The only way Calzaghe gets a KO is by referee stoppage.

Second, RJJ is the naturally bigger guy. Those two are huge factors for RJJ IMO. He knows he won't get hurt and he knows he will be the bigger guy.

Third, because he knows he won't get hurt, he can let his hands go a bit more. He still has blazing hand speed and can put together combinations about as well as anyone. And because he can match hand speed with Calzaghe, that is another factor. I just watched the Tito fight today and when he decided to put it together, it was beautiful.

Fourth. A little bit of delusion. I also saw in the Tito fight how stationary he is. I think RJJ just looks at his good moments and forgets that his defense, reflexes, and legs are shot.

Fifth. He also saw in the Hopkins fight that you can time Calzaghe coming in and knock him down. Maybe RJJ feels like he can hurt him as he has more power than Calzaghe.

Conclusion. Despite his lost talents, he can still feel confident going into this fight because Calzaghe can't hurt him, he's the bigger man, he can match hand speed with Calzaghe, and he has more power than Calzaghe. :good Of course, the big question for RJJ will he be work rate and activity when compared to Calzaghe.

True. But wouldn't you say that the outcome of the fight gave RJJ even more confidence?

JONES was expecting Joe to pick him off with his JAB? As if Joe FIGHTS THAT WAY? FOUGHT HOPKINS AT HIS OWN GAME? :huh Joe won by fighting HIS OWN FIGHT. Not Hopkins' fight. Fighting Hopkins fight was what he did earlier on, till he pulled away.

IMO, Calzaghe is easy pickings for Jones Jr.
even @ 39 he will be 10x faster than Joe, & should have the power advantage. Even tho Roy's chin has been his downfall at the end of his boxing. Calzaghe does not have the Punching to hurt a Roy with one Punch @ Lt heavy/Super Middle ect..

In Jones mind that is, this is prob what he is thinking about Joe.
