How many of you included him in your top ten Light Heavyweights ?
Recognized him from a Ring Magazine feature on "the greatest lightheavyweights"..I think he was placed at 6 or 7.
Don't mean to be a party pooper but id make this post for phantom Mike Gibbons as why so forgotten today? He weighed at his best 150lbs and had this guy eating alotta leather.
Gibbons qualifies undoubtedly, though to be fair to Dillon ,I think he was on the downslide when he met the clever Gibbons. Don't mean to be a party pooper ,but why didn't you make a post on Gibbons?:good
Dillon was one of the great light-heavyweights. I think he gets a decent amount of recognition from boxing historians. He has about 250 recorded fights and about half of those were actually No Decisions. I probably left him off my top 10 last time I did one, but he's certainly interchangeable with most the guys who get in.
how many people do you know capable of doing a decent top ten LHW list? im sure not one of them had forgotten about jack!
Since there is no footage of him then you don't know much about this person do you? You just name the names of people he fought, what does that prove? Every person has a name. You could name the people Tye Fields fought but does that prove something? Unless you have footage of a person boxing then you don't know how good they are.
When you name the names of fighters Harry Greb beat with only one eye all of whom exist on film what do you think it proves??
