Yep, he doesn't have power which means he has to win by other means not as impressive to casuals. He also fell into a trap of trying to get impressive wins so he'd get into unnecessary wars which made it look like he struggled.
He's very good, but not great. Sometimes fans like to make out that he is, but so far he hasn't proven that. And that's okay, not everybody can be great. He's solid, a clear cut below the elite.
He's not brash enough to live up the stereotypes that ensure black american fighters pick up certain fans. Then there's the fact that there is a whole swathe of boxing 'fans' who pathetically won't support him because he's black. Then there are those who don't show any interest in fighters who aren't KO artists. Those who know boxing though have a lot of love for Timmeh.
So praising a black guy is racist these days? :huh More like your looking for every opportunity to white knight - like you do 90% of your time on this forum.
Like I said, fan base. Maybe he should clarify what "pretty boy swag" means? :think Maybe he isn't racist, who knows? Either way he's sucked into this whole "demographic" talk now.
He's actually one of the most overrated fighters on this board. Gift against Pacman. Gift against Provodnikov. Gift against Marquez. All his best wins were gifts. The cherry on the top was Rios showing up for their fight out of shape and taking a dive, which lead to everyone saying that featherfist Bradley was now a power puncher. And he's boring to watch. The Provodnikov fight was a fluke and all due to Provodnikov, not to Bradley. I will give him credit for fighting the toughest guys out there like Cotto, Ward, and Garcia do but other than that I'm not impressed. His skills make him good but not great.
How can you be racist towards a fan base? "The Demographic" is absolutely not exclusive to one race - Doug Fischer clarified this. The poster was clearly referring to Tim Bradley's warrior attitude towards the sport - the fact that he doesn't run around like "PBF" or "AB" alienates him from "The Demographic" who are clearly more into MTV Cribs than they are the sport of boxing. Tim Bradley gets plenty of appreciation from those who are fans of the sport.
I don't agree. A win over a 40 year old Marquez doesn't get one into the HOF. That win was arguable at that, Marquez landed the better more effective punches of the fight. ......then you have the Provodnikov fight where Bradley was gifted, the Chaves fight where Bradley was on the verge of getting knocked out in the last round. The three Pacquiao fights where Bradley really failed in a test of his ability to fight disciplined against a difficult fighter. The Pacquiao fights for me are the biggest indicators Bradley doesn't graduate to that next level that's called being great. I think Bradley is better skilled than Pacquiao, but he wasn't able to use those skills against Pacquiao as Bradley just unraveled in the face of speed and quickness before him. Great fighters who are skilled, deal with more athletically gifted fighters who are lesser skilled. Bradley didn't do that vs Pacquiao, thus imo doesn't graduate to the next level called greatness. Bradley=Exellent fighter, just not great.
Tim has two left feet and is an obviously flawed fighter, sure you can like and admire the fact that he gives his all but nobody will ever consider him TBE, so dont expect anything other than minimal appreciation
