I honestly don't see him being able to beat Marquez, either...

Hopefully he gets another tuneup soon so we can start talking about a 4th championsip after that fight.

I didn't watch the fight but I assume many here think he's prime material, still has it, can give anyone hell and is top tier stuff for winning against Jose Alvaro, right?

I'm surprised I don't see threads about it yet, what's the deal?, if RJJ was prime again after beating Lacy then why isn't Morales?. I need the ******s to explain!

Personally i don't agree with it but there might be a couple of reasons:

    1. The casual boxing fan has heard of Jeff Lacy; he was hyped as the next big thing and as a result his name will always have that marquee value

    2. The manner in which Jones or 'RJ' won that fight was spectacular; a decisive win whilst displaying great hand speed, in fighting, and good stamina for a man of his age

    3. I think people have more of a sentimental value for Morales; they don't want to see him hurt and therefore don't want to buy into this comeback too quickly. Roy, unfortunately, doesn't really hold that type of sentiment because of his boasting attitude

Finally, i would just like to say i was in no way shape or form convinced by Roy's victory over Lacy and neither did i see Morales fight against Alfaro so for all i know he could of looked spectacular. But there you go, thats my opinion

Yeah. Maybe I'm fooling myself, but I do think he could still beat good guys if he does the comeback right. I think his days of fighting Pac level fighters are over, but he could take out a David Diaz level fighter, snatch up that 4th title he so desperately wants then ride off into the sunset. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Hell, maybe EM coming back will get MAB motivated to make 130 again ;)

Agreed... if he stays healthy between fights, does everything right, loses more weight to become more mobile, gets another couple of wins under his belt shaking off more ring rust & focuses on his boxing ability - only trading when absolutely necessary - then we know he has the ability to win that 4th title.

He MUST do everything correct tho, no lapses in between fights or any **** like that.

Morales has a bunch of fans but he has a little more to prove before he starts getting people excited again. Let's be honest, he didn't look great against Alfaro now did he? If he can get in better shape and string a couple of victories together against contenders...:think
