Explain how? Cotto is under no obligation to fight Cintron, none whatsover. For all we know, Arum could've said that **** as a bluff to force Cintron to fight Clottey. However, once negotiations between Margo and Cintron died out, Arum needed a suitable replacement. Who better than Cintron, a guy who claimed he wanted Margo so bad. People on this site throw that ducking term around too freely. Just because a guy calls you out and you don't accept doesnt mean you're ducking them. An example of ducking would be if a guy agreed to fight someone, snaked his way out of the fight by faking an injury during an ill advised and unneccesary bout against some can just months prior, then calling out everyone in your division a month later except they guy you were originally suppsed to fight. That's ducking. Furthermore, if Cintron and Cotto win, then Cotto and Cintron will fight eachother in July. So tell me again how the **** Cotto is ducking Cintron? Cintron has not proved anything. All he has is a paper title that he won off some bum.
The real fight for Cintron is to fight Margarito again first and prove he's at the level that some of you are suggesting he is not ready for yet. There is no reason to give him crap - He's doing what any fighter that looses his first big real test should do - Rebuilding and staying busy before fighting the guy who beat him and then seeing what happens from there. What can you criticise about that? He's not walking around saying he's the man at 147...
Cintron knew he didn't have to fight Clottey right away. Arum like you said is a known liar, and he blatently lied in the answer I posted. Arum would not allow Cintron to fight anyone else unless it was Clottey but he makes margo-cintron 2 And if Cintron wins. I doubt he will, he will be facing Margo again. Arum has faith in Margo that he will win, note the reason he set it up and left Clottey in the dust. And if Cintron wins, we'll have to see, cause I guarentee Arum will probably enforce Cintron to make his mando and let Cotto fight someone else.
I already gave a good explaination of why this happened. The rest of your post is all conspericy theories based on what you think will happen in the future. None of it, in any way, provides proof of ducking. Once again, Cotto is under no obligation to fight Cintron. Cintron has proved nothing and has already backed out of fights with Mosley and Williams.
Cintron won a title that was vacated just like Cotto. Arum clearly ducked Cintron for Cotto. Gomez. Need I say more? Or what about Clottey since he was left out. Clottey was available. Cintron got ducked by Arum.
He HAS RECIEVED CRITICISM!! I've made no BONES about my opinion. He cant fight inside FOR ****:nono Jesse Feliciano was beating him about the ring for the majority of their fight:yep Margarito will roll once again:hey When he backed out the Williams event, in which they were willing to postpone to acommadate his injury? He was again been criticized. Some of his former associates have also posted quite a bit on this site about their experiences. Mostly negative while getting jilted and blamed for the first Margarito fight Gee, look where we're at now? Sometimes you have to take the opportunity that presents itself and I seriously dont see how he's any better at this point:-(
Now you're just throwing sentences together and not making much sense. Cotto has had two good defenses in a row. Gomez will be another entertaining fight, even though Gomez is unheralded. Assuming he beats Gomez, he would be in line for unification bout. That would mean that over 4 fights, he would've fought Judah, Mosely, and either Margo or Cintron. That's a pretty good stretch. How you could complain and insist he 's ducking people makes very little sense.
i think Cotto will take on the winner of Cintron vs Margarito so its not really ducking its more like allowing Cintron to prove his worth
Cotto isn't ducking. Arum is doing the ducking. Sure he fought Shane. Shane is nowhere near his former self. Sure he fought Judah, after Judah had not won in two years and was on a year of inactivity. Now he will fight Gomez. He will beat Gomez. Then he will either fight Margo. Who sucks and is overhyped and Arum is still trying to hype him. Thats why he made Margo-Cintron 2 to get Margo a title and then let Cotto beat him like it was great feat. NOTE if Margo beats Cintron. Cotto will have no faced a big puncher since Torres. And if you think about that. Torres took that fight on short notice! (Yes I know Judah is a big puncher but only early on, and Cotto low blowed him twice to slow him down, thus cheating, thus taking a lot from Judah)
Margarito is the pet project of Arum so it's not surprising. I don't see Cotto ducking Cintron..rather Arum protecting his "investments". Arum (and thus Cotto) isn't ducking Cintron, just being greedy. Lot more money to be made for him if two of his boys fight over a belt. And Cintron will never hear the end of the way he blatantly ran from Williams.
No Arum is ducking him. Note Cotto hasn't fought a big puncher since Torres. I would say he fought Judah but he cheated so it doesn't count.
Shane was not as past it as you make him out to be. Lets look at his previous results since his first loss to Wright. MD loss to Wright at 154 (a great result, at WW's prime weight) Wide UD over David Estrada Wide UD over Jose Luis Cruz 2 TKO over Fernando Vargas at 154 (Vargas' prime weight) Total domination over Luis Collazo So Mosley had some really good fights not only at Welterweight but also at Super Welterweight. All this in within 3 years of Mosley vs Cotto Mosley is still top5 in the division if he wants to keep at it.
Shane was 36 years and 2 months old. He is past it, a prime Mosley would of whiped the floor with Cotto. He beat David Estrada grats. Cruz, grats, who are they? Vargas has been shot. He's been done. Two wins over him mean nothing. Collazo is his best win since losing to Wright. Mosley is old and not anything like his prime self. Even if Shane wasn't as past it, it doesn't change the fact that Shane isn't a big puncher.
