Kovalev has fought everybody there is to fight. Chilemba, Pascal, Hopkins and Ward are the world's best 175 pounders.

Stevenson has promotional issues. A d Beterbiev is protected. He's ducked no one.

GGG has a hell of a marketing team behind him. There are people that hardly even follow boxing that know about him and watch his fights. UFC fans even love him. He is nearly a household name at this point. Kovalev doesn't have much of a backing, which is a shame.

The difference is that GGG and his promotional team have worked harder and smarter at marketing him. That's it. I agree that Kovalev does have the better resume.

It's not an HBO thing. GGG and Kovalev got to HBO at about the same time, with the same level of financial support, for the same reason: HBO needed people to generate ratings regularly for cheap due to budget cuts. So, they found knockout punchers that didn't command premiums like their traditional house fighters. As such, HBO didn't have a preference over Kovalev or GGG.

In russian theres no word like "guy". They have "boy" and "man". You use "man" when talkin about someone older and you can use "boy" when talkin about someone in his 20's and 30's. A russian buddy of mine explained this to me when we heard Gennady say "I respect Canelo he's a good boy". I laughed, but he told nothing its nothing disrespectfull just that GGG thinks in russian, cuz he's not that good at english.

"Big Drama Show" is something that his team coined and it worked out very well as PR stunt.
    Whats wrong with that.

GGG has a very good PR team, he threw the first ball at baseball games, went to Nascar races and took photos with famous drives which those dudes ( or their PR teams) uploaded on their social media accounts.
His team knew to showcase him more in Cali, where a lot of hispanics live. Smart move again cuz it worked.
So Gennady does alot of PR moves, where Kovalev does nothing. And its all Duva's fault.

You say its stupid, how come?
    It worked perfectly

I don't find what he says amusing like his gullible lovable fans do.

If I was Kovalev, I would try my best to break from Duva.
A smart move from him with be to sign with GYM and move out to Quebec.
He'd have a lot of backing from fans, knowing the history of how Canadians easily adopt foreign fighters PLUS he'd be right there with Adonis and Beterbiev. He'd get those fights quickly.

I think you just dont like him, thats all. He could help lil old ladies cross the street and you'll find something bad to say about that, I'm sure. everyone has favourites, its all good

No If he was to help a old lady across the street, I'd commend him.. But this is the sport of boxing and though I think GGG has a lot of potential, his Goons make him out to be this unbeatable phenom basesd off his supposed dominance over a weak division. His fans are who kill it for me.

You know, this excuse "I like the guy but because some fans, bla bla bla" is very weak.
When u follow sports do you watch the athletes or the fans ??
Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has fans that are re×××ds. So you must not like anyone, or you just pick and choose ?

You just dont like him, period. You just dont wanna admit.

No it isn't weak. It's real and it deters a lot of genuine fans away from the guy. "GGG IS a God, you say","GGG is the GOAT at MW you say", "GGG isn't about the money, you say"... you get the picture.
