I used to enjoy the small hall shows from here and abroad and the Prizefighter style tournament, not been and on for ages though. Have they given up on it?
Eurosport used to be a really good source of delayed coverage of some top fights in the 90's. I miss Steve Holdsworth, 100 times the knowledge of the sport a gob shyte like Halling will ever imagine! Shame!
Yes, I was wondering myself. In fact, it has been so long, I have given up trawling through Eurosport's schedules. Looks like they have developed the BBC's attitude!
BT bought up much of the sport (eg tennis) and I believe the European leisure centre scene was taken over by Boxnation. Boxnation can no longer afford to show many leisure centre shows as they are skint.
The Sanigars still have a contract with them but it's rather hit and miss- plus they'd prefer their fighters to be on Channel 5 on a Cyclone show than harbouring the costs themselves with virtually no rights fee from Eurosport. As for the European boxing I believe they don't hold the European rights to most cards and there would be little point in picking up these cards just for a British audience.
The Boxnation schedule just as bare but they do pick up the odd fight at 4am on a Sunday morning to keep the 376 subscribers happy.
