Let's be honest here, NOBODY has "hyped" Maliganaggi. This is an exaggeration. Talking about a fighter is not synonymous with hyping up a fighter. The jury is still out on Paulie.

I can't think of a geographical region that likes Malignaggi. Even when they had that bio on Paulie on Showtime, you could see the people he stopped in the street looking at him with disdain.

see my previous posts on this thread. if you're talking about his "fans " on this site they're really not worth talking about, and say more about them than hatton. he filled city's ground last time out, and will take more to vegas than calzaghe did to new york. he still has plenty of fans

Both have looked like crap in the past year. Im not as excited as I would have been if both didnt put out shitty performances.

How many of them go to drink beer and chant football songs?

By the time the fight came on they'd probably struggle to put a coherent sentence together nevermind remember who is fighting.

I get the impression all the fans that were supposed to know **** about boxing jumped ship just because he lost.

A lot of them weren't really fans in the first place.

They were just latching onto him in hopes that he'd beat Mayweather.

Bollox! Name me one US fighter who could even get 10,000 fans from the US to fly to Europe for one of his fights?

i think you're being harsh there . plenty of knowledgeable fans have followed him for a long time. for that matter, plenty of knowlegdable boxing fans drink beer, and shock horror...get pissed .you think that its a new phenomonom, drinking at fights?
you're talking about this site. which is no place to see if ricky is still popular. he is still taking up more space in papers over here than calzaghe, and people still talk about him plenty

If I was wrong why do people suddenly not give a **** about Hatton on here? The place was swarming with posts on him prior to Mayweather.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with going for a beer and the "event", these guys are big enough and god damn...they are ugly enough to do what they want and it makes for a great atmosphere.

People are really DUMBING DOWN on this site. It's not about liking one particular fighter, it's about which fighter is more likely to win on November 22. Jesus Christ!
