    Here's an idea.

Why not, after 5 rounds tell the corners/fighters who is winning. Then again after the 9th round.

Then they announce they decision after 12.

That's sort of already in place. WBC international title fights (fights outside the U.S.) have open scores after the 4th and 8th rounds.

    You can't have open scoring.

That would make it much harder for the promoters to control the outcome.

Can't have it. Never gonna' happen.

I see both sides of this argument but i think id prefer to keep it as it is now.

I dont think open score cards would change the way the judges score the rounds cuz i think they try to do it as honestly as they can, they get swayed by the home crowd, home fighter and even the refs mood which can also sway in the home fighters favour but i dont think they are ever concious of this fact and for that reason it wouldnt change anything to be more fair.

It COULD help the losing fighter to understand he or she needs to do more, even to te extent of realizing they need a knockout to win. But then it also would show the winning fighter that he could just get on his bike for the last few rounds and thats just boring.

It certainly wouldnt kill the sport to have it but i dont think its a change that really needs to be made.

Maybe it should be selectively open...show the viewers on tv or audience the scores every 4 rounds, or every 6, without having every single round announced to the fighters and complicating the competitive aspects of the game. Maybe it should be a negotiated thing, as opposed to simply a wide-spread practice. That would be interesting; that way you get the best of both worlds without marring the drama of sport every time out.

I'd rather see 5 judges and they discount the 2 judges who had the widest margins for each fighter.

That way you get rid of the odd ball judges who seem to score it differently to the rest of the world.

I think they should have an X factor type of voting where the public phone in for decisions.

Can get more money that way as well. :D

Why not have a 13th round?

I think that's how other sports that rely on judges work, diving and figure skating etc.

I think if the crowd was aware of the judges scores after each round, the judges would be more inclined to score rounds to the crowd favourite

Yes, cut out the high or low scores and keep it consistent as possible.

Disagree with that. I think it can still be dramatic.
