Why the dislike by some for Pacman?

Barrera wasnt shot man,if you want to say he was past it fine but shot hell no,a shot fighter wouldnt beat Morales and give JMM hell after Pac beat him.

Larios also stopped Vazquez but even if Pac didnt make quick work of Larios he still beat him with ease.

Man you should look past what Roach says and what some of his fans say,Pac is a great fighter and is great for boxing he never talks **** about any fighter and when the bell rings hes a monster that brings the goods every time just like the guy hes going to fight next.

 

This is what I think it is. A comination of exposure fatigue (being told about pacquaio all the time) and those diehard fans of pacquaio who show a shockingly limited knowledge of the sport from a historical perspective.

IMO the definition of ducking an opponent comes down to an opponent being afraid to fight that opponent because of fear of losing to him. I think most people can agree with that right.

For that reason I don't really like to claim that one opponent has ducked another opponent. Because there are absolutely no facts to back up if one opponent is afraid to lose to another unless that fighter comes out and states it.

People state it as a fact that PBF is afraid of Margo. But there is no proof that PBF was scared of Margo. PBF turning down Arums offer could be a multitude of reasons other then fear yet fear is the only option that people want to claim. Why is that.

He was scared of Margarito but challenged Tszyu, Mosley and DLH. He ended up fighting DLH who has the same size difference as Margo but was a way better fighter. Why would he be scared to lose to Margo but not scared of Mosley or DLH who were better then Margo? Why should PBF believe that Margo could beat him? What stylistic difference did Margo bring compared to Baldo ? Why would he be scared of Mosley now when he has been calling Mosley out since 1999 when Mosley was better and younger? What makes Mosley more dangerous now? Because he knocked out Margo? He beat DLH before 2006 yet PBF still called him out. Wouldn't beating DLH make PBF more scared, if he was scared at all of Mosley, over knocking out Margo, who PBF didn't think was that good anyway?

PBF being scared of Margo or Mosley does not add up. People only throw that around in order to talk trash, but is not backed up by facts only opinion that can be strongly challenged.

As for Pacman, I started to like him from the DLH 24/7. Thats the first time I was able to see him outside of the ring. He seemed like a very humble guy.

Fighting wise I like his style as well, and enjoy his fights. I don't dislike Pacman at all, I just don't think he can defeat PBF, and I don't agree with people who knock PBF's accomplishments in order to propel his. I don't feel that is necessary. They both have there own accomplishments and that is where it should be left at, . But I am very interested to see what he can do vs Cotto.

I don't really have a favorite for that fight, I'm just looking forward to a great fight.

So in the end if Pacman is great just let him be great. There is no need to knock everyone else in order to try and prove Pacman is great. Let his accomplishments be great not in your opinion the lack of accomplishments of others.

 

Barrera did give Morales who was also past it hell along with JMM sure, all great fighters have one great fight left in them Kinda the way Holyfield tends to every now and then peal the years back just a bit, as he did with Valuev are you going to say Valuev fought a prime Holyfield? No he lost to a shot Holyfield.
Larios did stop vazquez in their 2nd bout in the last round, but Israels son was born just the night before he was dead tired...

All I can say is, appreciate the guy while he's still doing his thing because you may not realise it now, but I think we're watching a very, very special boxer, which will be confirmed if he wins against Cotto and PBF.

All his best wins are being nitpicked by some people, but you can do that with ANY fighter. Pac is no God but he is arguably the best p4p on the planet currently.

As far as I'm concerned, there is only one boxer who arguably deserves the p4p title more than Pac, and that is Floyd. Now I think Floyd is a great fighter, and I don't use that word lightly. However, if you look at his wins, you can nitpick too.

Gatti-past prime
Hatton-Hatton was never comfortable at 147
DLH-past prime though not as much as when Pac beat him
Marquez-a lightweight

Now my point is not to criticize Floyd, as I'm a fan. All I'm saying is that you can take ANY fighters resume and **** it up with excuses. Most boxers would give their right arm to have fought the guys Pac has beaten, end of story.

What do you want him to do? He's now fighting Cotto, despite having a fight at super featherweight only last year! He's fighting at a catchweight of 145 pounds, a weight that should be more comfortable for Miguel since he's only dropping 2 pounds whereas Pac has only fought ONCE at 147 and ONCE and 140. He's the smaller man taking on the bigger man and he gets shitted on.

Larios, Barrera, Morales, DLH, Hatton, now he's fighting Cotto. You would think that would be enough but no, "he avoided Juan Diaz":roll: Then when Diaz get's KAYO'ed it changes to "he avoided Guzman". "He's scared of black fighters". Yeah okay.

It's ****ed up how the p4p best boxer on the planet with such an exciting style, good personality and role model is the second most hated boxer on ESB after Carl Froch.

Like I said, enjoy him while he's still here.

It's simple. Shut the **** up and don't worry about who doesn't like your favorite fighter. Not everyone is gonna like him. It doesn;t matter how exciting you think is style is, or how popular he is in his home country. People have their own favorites and you guys have to accept it...atsch
