After Lennox, Gomez is the most skilled man Vitali ever fought. Pure Cuban school, very good handspeed, good movements, good punch. Gomez is no Peter or Danny Williams.

I am sure, that this fight will be much more competetive than a lot of people think.

Gomez knows, that this is HIS chance. His biggest fight of his life and I dont think he has fear like Peter did.

In the end I think Klitschko wins, but Gomez will have his moments and make it a competetive fight for a couple of rounds. Skillwise Gomez is Top5 with the Klitschkos, Povetkin and Chambers.

Gomez does have skills but he has hasn't been tested by a decent top 5 contender.

It will be a good fight to watch.

Gomez is a good fighter. Lots of talent.

However, he has been extremely flatfooted lately...I just don't think you can get away with that against Vitali. Also, he seems to have slowed down.

But you never know. I think he'll make it competitive for about 4 rounds and then get outboxed to a UD.

    Just watching Gomez-Virchis now.

Gomez will cause Vitali some problems. Guys technique and combinations are excellent. Not sure how he will cope with Vitali's height and reach though.

    Exactly.

Everybody saying Quitali will put him through the ropes when he hit Sam Peter with everything and still couldn't put him down.

Clearly never seen Gomez fight. I think it will be very, very close in a fight that could probably be scored a draw or for either side.

Completely irrelevant, but I always thought you were Max Alexander the dude off the Contender series with Bika and Soliman and Codrington in.

Fully agree. Gomez will have his moments before being taken out.

Gomez is going to be brutally beaten in this fight, mark my words. His only chance of winning this fight is a Vitali injury or a cut, thats it. Gomez is a good boxer, and can throw combinations when he wants to. But as another poster pointed out, he does stand flooted at times, something you cant do against a guy with great jab and heavy righthand. Yes, Gomez is more skilled than Peter overall, but he also his drawback as well, he lacks the power or the chin to go the distance with Vitali. Look for this fight to end relatively early, my guess would be the 4th round. Vitali will be just too much to handle for Gomez.

I think Gomez is a very good fighter, and he's worked as a sparring partner for the Klitschko's so he knows what to expect. Many times good fighters have had problems with fighting sparring partners. I think Vitali will win.... and I hope he get his due credit for it(but I don“t think so). I'm expecting an extremely impressive performance from Vitali.

I've just posted that now. After my post I went over to boxrec to check out the presumed reach advantage Vitali would have and to my shock he doesn't!

    Gomez has a reach advantage?

    Damn.

That could make a big, big difference in this fight.
