The 1st time nobody really knew about Manny Pacquiao hell nobody at Mannys gym knew he existed until he got a call to fight for the title against I think Ledwaba, anyhow when he fought Barrera as I said not much known, seemingly untested, or that Barrera would be too much of a test... And what happend was Barreras camp was cut short due to forrest fires, there was loads of Media attention about his brain surgery... Not making excuses for him cus its his responsibility to make sure he is mentally ready.. Pacquiao was the fastest thing Barrera never saw comming and once Pac started to hit him and at higher volumes he stepped on the gas and never let up once.... Barrera never had a chance to recover or time Pacquiao he has never seen something like that before... And keep in mind Junior Jones kinda showed you that straight punching is the way you beat Barrera and Manny threw plenty of straight shots down the middle and Barrera couldnt stop him.... infact he stopped Barrera (God I will never forget the look on my brother inlaws face, prior to the fight I told him some chinese kid at wildcard is going to whip Barreras ass) Anyhow the rematch..... Well, mentally Barrera just couldnt get himself up, he was highley aware of the risk and didnt try to make something of it, he collected a pay check put forths an honest days work and life moved on:good
:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy yea bro, i ****ing HATE when fans use that as an excuse, as if its the other fighter's fault he didn't prepare properly
Good post. If only Mosley risked to engage with Pac and throw his right hands, he would've had a better chance.
EM and JMM both have differing styles from Manny, MAB's is much more similar. Or it was when they first met. The plain truth is Manny's fire and ferocity matched and overwhelmed Marco's fire and ferocity. In the second fight Marco tried to lay back and set traps but Manny wasn't having it, he didn't charge in like Marco expected and so the fight turned out the way it did. There are excuses you could make for Marco, given that he had well-known problems with management at the time of the first fight, the plate in his head, his camp being burned out, but given subsequent events I think even the most rabid Marco fan (me) just has to acknowledge that Manny brought more to the table, he's a great, great fighter. Marco has said as much himself.
Nah, the post was bull****. MAB always threw in excellent combinations and he could hurt you with the right hand as well as the left. Ask Mzonke Fana. His BEST punch was the left hook liver shot, but it was far from his only shot. Divac just thinks it makes him a better EM fan if he hates Marco like his idol does. As a MAB fan, we're allowed to be more rational and love both of them.
If you've never seen Barrera fight and you want to fake like you know what you're talking about, your post was quality.
he's not an EM fan, he's JMM's numero uno fan. but i do agree with him that you have to have a very good right in order to neutralize Pac's lefts. Yes, MAB is far from a one-handed fighter, but like divac stated, he doesn't have an excellent right, his main weapon is his left, particularly left hook to the body. i respect your opinion though :good
Hamed was a legendary lazy trainer throughout his career.Everyone that knows anything about him knows that he was always lazy and just didn't like to do roadwork. But don't worry.Never has a fighter been given so many excuses for losing just one fight as Hamed. When he ran into MAB,it was the 1st time he was fighting an elite. And it showed.End of.Although his supporters will ALWAYS,and I do mean ALWAYS make several excuses for him. It's that simple.
The problem with you,as well as all of Hamed's fans,is that you believe that any of those fighters that you mentioned that Hamed fought, were anything special. What I love is when you Hamed fanboys bring up Robinson as if he were anything special. As much as I've always admired Steve,he wasn't.And he most certainly wasn't in the same universe as MAB.None of his his other opposition weren't,in fact.Pretty good at best. But you Hamed supporters love to make excuses for your overrated boy.Good for you
I'm a fan of all three Mexican's. All three brought me enjoyment. MAB fan's get miffed at me because I rate him behind both Marquez and Morales.
Had the wrong style. Left hook dominant converted southpaws that come forward and are flat footed are Made to Order for manny. manny's a decent southpaw, and right hands have historically been the southpaw killer. Converted lefties often don't throw the right with the kind of conviction for a southpaw like manny. Southpaw defectors are pushing off their weaker foot and using their weaker hand for a str8. The problem is the str8 has to travel far since it's in the rear, but throwing the weaker hand from such a distance slows it down even more. Barrera help laid the blueprint for the style of fighter manny does best against. Take a look at the other guys people consider manny's best perfromances, Oscar, and Cotto. They're both left hook dominant converted southpaws that came forward and were flat footed.
