Tyson Fury managed to dominate Chisora at three distinct high points of Derek's career. These fights were not remotely competitive - Chisora hardly landed a significant shot and never managed to get going. Fury even stopped him fighting southpaw. This is a guy who has given tough, close fights to: Whytex2 Kabayel Usyk Parkerx2 Old Vitali Wilder It's not like Parker or Old Vitali didn't have a jab. Usyk certainly has all the tools. How did Fury make it look so easy over and over? The Chisora dominations are aging very well.
Um, Chisora had plenty of success in the first fight, even managing to stun Fury. Yea, Fury clearly won the majority of the rounds, but it was a really good fight, and a big reason why the rematch years later was such a big deal. Fury dominating Chisora in the rematch, by fighting southpaw, was a shock to a lot of people. We expected another good fight, not a total domination and a wipeout. That being said, styles make fights, and clearly Fury was all wrong for Chisora, on top of being levels above him in skill.
Fury knows how to move and clinch and avoid Chisora's overhand right so Chisora has nothing to offer. Fury going Southpaw in the 2nd bout was just a showcase of how sexy he can be. Even worse was Whyte...even less to offer than Whyte. Even though Fury is regressing people will also be shocked with how badly he boxes AJ's face off.
I'd say it's because he's more athletic and skilled than Vitali, and unlike Usyk he can totally nulify Chisora in every area. At least against Usyk, Chisora had a 3 stone weight advantage and wasn't massively shorter and stubbier.
Fury has good movement. And jabs well while moving. DC needs to be set to throw his power and needs to be at the right distance before throwing. Fury just jabbed and moved before DC got into range or got his feet set. Usyk has the movement but not the size. So, in order to land his jab, he needed to be in DR'S range, Fury not so much.
Because prime Fury was a brilliant HW.. ye he could get clipped from time to time & put in the odd subpar performance etc.. but when he was on it he was top draw .. look at how easily he handled the common opposition of Vitali for instance..
Chisora is a decent pressure fighter but he telegraphs himself quite heavily at times and that will always suit Tyson Fury.
Fury on his game is an excellent fighter and very underrated in my opinion. It took someone special like Usyk to beat him. Fury manhandled tough guys like Wilder, Chisora and Whyte all decent fighters not greats but still dangerous men.
Chisora was both Kabayel and Usyks best HW opponent at the time they fought. Thats the common denominator that doesn't get brought up when discussing those 2 fights. Chisora was Furys best opponent the first time but that was a two way street. Chisora was a grizzled veteran when he fought Kabayel and Usyk. Chisora is also only 6'1. Fury is 8 inches taller. Thats not an impossible gap to overcome but it really requires the smaller fighter to be better and Chisora is not that kinda guy. Hes not going to hurt Fury and hes not going to outpoint him so he really doesn't have a win condition.
Chisora gave Kabayel an easy night's work. By the end Kabayel was so far ahead he was just laughing at Chisora who wanted a tear up in the final round. But I agree with the general premise that Fury had the easiest time with Chisora. That second fight, Fury was something else - possibly his peak performance. I've never bothered watching the third
Imo Styles make fights Fury is a big person who used his height and reach to his advantage I think Fury probably has a tougher time against big strong HWs who use their weight. I think Miller would potentially be a tough fight for Fury due to his weight and how he fights
