His resume is VERY respectable. Even his less notable wins in Siaca and Lucas are respectable.

Hell, look at any division, how many A class fighters reside in each?

Welterweight is throughly overhyped, but it has 3 A's with Cotto, Mosely and Floyd, the rest are B and mostly B-.

SuperFeather has 3 A's as well with Pac, JMM and Guzman, then a B+ with Soto, the rest are B's and B-.

    Feather has no A class.

Lightweight has no A class fighters, Campbell won't sustain that type of performance.

Lightwelter has no A class fighters.

Middle has no A class fighters.

Cruiserweight had Haye, the rest are B level.

SMW has Kessler as an A, Mundine as a B+, Bute and the rest of the lot are strong B's.

LHW has Dawson and soon Calzaghe as A's.

    .............

Now let's step down to the underrated lower divisions -

Super Bantam has Marquez and Vasquez, two A's.

    Bantam has 0 A's.

SuperFly has 1 A in Cristian Mijares

    Flyweight has no A's.

The rest however that fill up the majority are mostly strong B's or B+'s, making these divisions very good.

    Not KOing Mundine?

Nobody has since Ottke and he's fought some knockout artists at that, I don't see anybody KOing Mundine anytime soon even if he steps in with the divisions best as he's slick, tricky and a great survivor with good recovery powers.

Who do you consider better than Mundine at SMW, or better yet, throw in the MW numbers also, you can't name many, Mundine's a very good fighter.

Hell, if Pavlik fought anyone on the same level as those guys, he'd get credit for those wins, especially if he dominated them with no trouble(hasn't been the case in most Pavlik fights, he always has some trouble).

Kessler's resume is quite underrated, it has a variety of styles, a few very good fighters and all of his wins have been either total shutouts or very dominate, something people don't take into consideration. How a fight's won counts.

I suppose when Andrade grinds down Stieglitz and then gives Bute hell, people will see how impressive it was for Kessler to win every single round and to keep that kind of precise work for the entire fight.

    Exactly.

If SMW is such a weak division, then we'll see how well Miranda, Taylor, Pavlik and others do as they move up. I predict they will have limited success at best.

You know, if Taylor wants to make a dent in the division, he should go for this guy Mundine who Ottke KTFO. I will put some serious money on Mundine to utterly tool him to a wide UD in the process.:yep

I am not here to call other posters idiots etc. This is my opinion. All to often we see fighters get recognition which isnt due. The word " Great" gets tagged to these guys too often (Kessle and Calzaghi).

Like Hopkins said to Calzaghi " to be great, do great things"". Calzaghe/Kessler have not 1 great name on their record between them.

The real heroes of this sport are the Pavliks , Hopkins Roy Jones. Guys who fight other P4P fighters. Not home boys like Calzaghe. Or overhyped Kesslers.

In brief, Kessler did fight stiffs up until 30 odd fights

He beat a Mundine back then but i wouldnt count on him beating Mundine now.

Kessler did beat Lucas and Beyer 2 blokes whom Danny Green smacked the **** out of a few years earlier (Beyers v GReen 1st fight).

Kessler has done well in his career and did well against Joe.

The Fact that the best reply you guys defending Kessler can give me are "Kessler beat Andrade, Mundine Beyer". lol, thats pityfull in itself.

Did you know that Pavlik would lose to Mundine and Andrade?:yep

I guess if he fought either, then both would then have to be ranked P4P....

    Maybe that's a call for a different P4P criteria.
