Why was there no Pacquiao vs Horn rematch?

Obviously Pacquiao didn't want it.

 

Vargas was before Horn. But yes, on paper it was Manny´s last fight with Top Rank.
Well, Top Rank did promote the Matthysse fight, but they handled some of the distribution rights and poorly so. According to Manny there were payment issues.

Prior to that, Top Rank tried to put Manny vs Alvarado on the Crawford-Horn undercard.

 

Pac had that weird hissy fit after the fight where he shunned Roach for years then acted like it didn't happen and it was just convenient to have the fat assistant be his trainer for a while. Maybe that also played a role.

 

Pac moved on and ended up beating Thurman while Horn ended up getting his arse knocked around. Nobody would have said anything had the decision gone to Pac's favor, but since he "lost" people are acting like it was such a bad loss. It's as if he got stopped by Horn that he really needed that rematch. What exactly would a rematch accomplish to his legacy other than avenging this "loss" and reclaiming his title?
