Whyte fights too aggressive for his durability. He does have a good jab, but he's a bit chinny. I think he could possibly edge out a decision if he tightens up his defence, and comes down to 240.

    Hype job is not fair.

He got in with Joshua, when he still had a chin, took an absolute barrage of punishment, fought his heart out, knackered his shoulder and went out on his shield. He really gave that a go when many would've taken a knee and got up at the count of 10, on countless times during that bout.

He then achieved an 11 bout winning run, by embroiling himself in wars, lifting himself up off the canvas several times. The run looked like it was going to continue when he had Povetkin down twice and looked comfortable. I think he got complacent and he probably didn't think Povetkin had that punch in him - credit to the Russian.

We're in an era in which boxers spend careers pussyfooting around. Whyte has been in some good fights. He deserves more than "hype job". He's earned any hype he's received, which hasn't been much. Hasn't he been seen as a top 5 or 6 contender? If he wasn't in that 4-6 spot, then where was he? He earned that spot.

If he can't defeat Povetkin and then loses another bout sometime soon after then he's probably finished at the level he was at and certainly has no hopes of competing at the level he aspired to. I like Whyte but I have my reservations due to his punch resistance these days. He could turn into Ali and if he still can't take a punch he'll be useless. However, I don't know how bad it's got because that was a spectacular punch by Povetkin.

I can’t stand the smarmy little rat. He’s f*cking everywhere these days. Him and Bellew are the absolute pits of British boxing.

For all of his ‘who wants it’ and ‘maximum violence’ rhetoric, Whyte really isn’t an aggressive fighter. His last early win was the stoppage of journeyman Malcolm Tann in 2017. It was his lack of aggression that cost him the first Povetkin fight, if he’d jumped on him it was all over. I just wish Pov had hung them up after that uppercut and bookended his career in the style it deserved.

Thought Whyte was adding Ronnie Knight to his team given his goal to extract as much loot as possible.

He's been guided very well, mate, since that Joshua defeat where he went out on his shield. Can't fault the effort he put in but ultimately there was levels between them. The winning run was favourable...beat Allen, Lewison, an awful fight with Helenius...life and death with Chisora, gift 3 point swing against Parker, doped against Rivas and the glove fiasco. Life and death with Chisora again...and Wach. Chinned Browne who even Allen stopped (quicker) and got chinned off a shot to pieces Povetkin.

He's entertaining, I will always tune in for his fights because he swings for the trees and he's got a Khan like vulnerability. I'd put him around the 10-15 mark so hype job is harsh but he winds me up with all his whinging mate.

He was a very good defensively (with a decent wallop), before the career ending defeat to Lockridge. He got the name because you were chasing shadows fighting him, and then out of the shadows he would get you, and most importantly for a nickname, Shadow Knight is very pleasing on the tongue.
