I’m no big Whyte fan but seeing people whine about him not promoting etc does make me laugh and root for him slightly. I admit I was looking forward to press conferences etc myself. But the only financial incentive Whyte has is to win the fight and with all the back and forth Warren and Co are trying to shaft him so he is keeping his head down and training and not allowing Fury to occupy his head rent free which would have happened had there been more interaction. Not saying Whyte has Fury rattled but he definitely has Warren and Co a bit shook, I don’t think they expected this much self discipline from Whyte.
This was a logical conclusion of how he was treated by the WBC and Warren. Will this influence the PPV buys in the future? Probably not much. PPV buyers have been burned over and over and over in the UK and US, and still keep buying.
Money does talk and Dazn will overpay but for any UK fighter who wants to become mainstream they have to be on Sky and have their commercial push
This has nothing to do with Eddie Hearn. Whyte isn't even signed to matchroom yet the op thinks Hearn is pulling the strings.
Wasn’t Whyte willing to attend the press conference but Warren wanted to put him on a cheapo Ryan Air flight in the hope he’d get COVID and disrupt his camp? If it was in black and white in the contract that he had to attend it he’d be getting sued right now. Sounds like Arum (as we know Warren isn’t really that involved) or a lawyer messed up somewhere.
I like how you say “This is boxing for crying out loud the rules are made up as they go along” as some kind of justification on how the bids were handled only to then later on in your post cry about Whyte seemingly not playing by the rules.
