Setanta paid Haye a serious amount, one of the reasons for their downfall. I think I had to pay 12.99 a month for Setanta back when it was in operation.
Yeah - Setanta was a very decent channel, far superior to what happened with BoxNation, but it did cost a fair whack at the time.
One thing I’ve noticed with hardcore fans is that the grass was always greener 10 years ago in boxing.... and they’ll be saying the same thing about boxing in another 10 years from now
And I wonder whose alt you are ..... ? 18 posts in 3 years and all of them defending Matchroom and/or criticizing Warren. You people (or person) are pathetic.
Not really Tone This guy has minimal posts in 3 years and each one seems to be focusing on one area Its not like he is talking about a regular
You got a at least one premier league game a week, other football, a 24 hour news channel which did mess up a bit but still. There was other sports too but I wasn’t interested in them. Remember Bunce’s boxing hour was brilliant, Bunce was always virtually over stepping the line, the presenter couldn’t handle him. It was probably better than Boxnation in terms of British fighters and far cheaper than a Sky sports subscription Yous also didn’t have to pay for the likes of Haye Maccrinelli and Calzaghe Hopkins which would be nailed on PPVs on sky.
Setanta's business plan was hilarious, literally signed up the rights to every sport, then boxing events that probably should've been PPV. Then charged subscribers £10 a month, didn't it work out they would've had to a ridiculous amount of subscribers to even break even that it was unfathomable
