Over 300k was a brilliant number for that fight. Wasnt too far off Froch Groves 2 and everybody in the country was buzzing about that fight.
Agreed but if a fighter has the X factor, he won't need a dancing partner I swear Bellew vs Haye and even Usyk sold more than most if not all of his fights You mention AJ, now there's a guy with the X factor And the Frampton fight is a poor comparison tbh Heavyweights always out sell the little guys, well 99 per cent of the time Lets be honest alot of people got conned in to the Whyte hype and its been on the decline since the Rivas fight thankfully
Josh Taylor is injured and his fight has been given a new date. Interesting that Whyte v Wallin hasn’t been given a new date, just ‘cancelled’. They know full what they’re doing.
You do know that @Mitch87 in his boxing CV algorithm gives points for signing contracts to fight so this latest debacle means that Pudding Whyte now has a better CV than Tony Booth.
Aydamn was probably holding the mitts in all kinds of weird angles that he thought would be beneficial. Ripped the shoulder right out of the socket.
Correct HW are more popular but there is no way Sky/Matchroom were expecting the Frampton v Quigg fight to do below 500k
Froch v Groves 2 is another example of a fight pushed to the moon by Sky. The hype for that fight was insane yet couldn't crack over 500k
Matchroom's roster was just so thin when they left Sky something like this was always a distinct possibility in hindsight and it's hard to believe Eddie really believed that the talent he had at MR was going to be enough to fill up the schedule week after week month after month especially with the culture within boxing now of everyone believing that a single loss and you're done. So you've a stable of young fighters who mostly avoid real challenges, many only fight at most 3 times a year and Eddie really thought that was going to be enough ?? Said it a while a back but - You're not on Sky Sports anymore Eddie mate. You really wonder were this is all leading I mean there is next to nothing coming up on DAZN and they're only a few months old LOL. DAZN is going nowhere but what the boxing department is producing is already looking like a total disaster, interesting times ahead.
HMS Matchroom currently heading in the same direction as The Titanic - Captain Birdseye Eh Day Earn has steered the ship to the middle of nowhere with dangerous rocks in sight.
I do not completely agree. Right now it does not look good for Eddie Hearn and DAZN UK, but if DAZN acquires BT Sport then the picture will change.
The BT Sports purchase is the only way forward - this 60 second delay streaming channel with next to nothing on it most weeks has been a huge flop so far with no improvement on the horizon.
