Yep. A lot of the rounds were close and I wouldn't argue with anything from a 2pt Parker win to a 2pt Whyte win, as it's all down to interpretation and it was a close fight.

Talk of a Whyte domination is absolute nonsense though.

One hard hard fight for Parker that was..Close fight but I gave it to Whyte..If Parker would've mixed it up a bit more late, the 12th round version of Whyte would've come earlier, he was spent. Parker could never of beaten Joshua, but imo I agree with Kevin Barry "its Joseph's fight to lose" against Whyte, he could've beat Whyte imo

Last night I watched the fight with SKY's commentary for the first time and thought that was the most disgusting and biased commentary I've ever witnessed.

For example, Joseph Parker showed the heart of a lion to come off the floor from that left hook KD later on, and we had a guy who was blown away in 1 round by Adonis Stevenson continously questioning the man's fighting mettle.

Bellew is pure scum and it's shocking that SKY's standards are so low to allow him t spew his filth on air as a paid pundit/expert.

That may well be true but there's a real debate to be had about the refereeing.
Unfortunately, Parker's team have such a record of complaining about officiating that they have obviously felt obliged to remain a bit silent of the latest outrage (although K Barry has mentioned it).

It's okay saying pro boxing is a rough game and Whyte's tactics were right for him.
It's okay saying Parker needs to learn to be rougher and meaner and nastier.
    This is all true.
But if boxing is to be taken seriously as a sport then we should focus more on the conduct of the referee in response to Whyte's constant fouling.
How on earth can a boxer be allowed to foul so much, get warned so much and yet not be penalized in the least for his illegal work ?
Ian John Lewis did a terrible job. He warned Whyte constantly. Whyte carried on. And nothing done .. just more warnings. .... and more fouls.
It would have made more sense for the referee to ignore the fouls completely. But he obviously saw what was going on, and drew attention to it, and ultimately lacked the backbone to penalize even a single point.
Instead, Whyte made a massive net profit from his fouls (in terms of points and in terms of advantage).

Meanwhile, SKY employs a team of commentators whose reaction is to criticize Parker's team for making protests during the fight.
    It beggars belief.

If this happened to a Matchroom fighter (or any UK fighter) in another country, Bellew, Froch et al. would cry blue murder.

That’s a good post, mate. Refereeing can be so inconsistent in any sport not just boxing. It’s one mans subjective opinion, and even that can change depending on the context and/or characters. For example, when Hatton heard that the referee for his fight with Mayweather was Cortez he was chuffed as he had previously allowed him to work on the inside, however, as we know, Cortez went on to then stifle Hatton’s work in the fight with Mayweather and even penalise him a point without prior warning. I guess as a fighter you just have to think ‘well he’s getting away with it, i’m gonna do it, too’.

I agree about the matchroom commentators and even the replays they show inbetween rounds which ignore the challengers good work and primarily just show the shots by the home town boy.

From Whyte and trainers perspective, you have to say that the tactics he employed on the night were perfect. If your opponents strength is his boxing skills...don’t let him box, rough him up, spoil his work.

I’m not disagreeing, I’m just adding to what you’ve said.

The Sky Team are awful and if you listen at the start of the fight, Tony Bellew stated that the extra weight will help Whyte in the first half of the fight.

At the start of round 7, the same Tony Bellew stated that the extra weight will help Whyte in the second half of the fight. He talks absolute pony and so does Smith, Macklin, Paul Smith, Froch and Toe.

Adam Smith screaming his rehearsed nonsense as well has me looking back to the glory days when Jim Watt was commentating on tough teak Ghanians.

Al these feckers paid a fortune as well as Tatty Anna presenting the show who thought a low blow was oral sex.

Time for Sky to clear the lot of them out and get a professional objective commentary team in place.

None of them will ever join Sid Waddell as one of the greatest commentators ever.

    This is all true.
SKY have the worst standards imaginable in terms of commentary, and it's sad that millions of casual boxing fans are being "informed" by such drivel.
