I get that same impression: that Joshua will talk about wanting to fight Wilder next summer, while Hearn will not be too keen on the idea and will propose Joshua vs Whyte II or Joshua vs Chisora instead, and will do interviews and say with a straight face that Joshua vs Whyte or Joshua vs Chisora is a 50-50 fight.
To be honest, I always felt Joshua would clean Wilders clock but obviously as time has gone on that doesn't look as likely. If Joshua fought a safety first fight against Wilder he could shut Deonkey totally out of the fight. I'm still picking Joshua with a lot less confidence.
Wilders's team have no confidence in his ability to win this fight (for good reason) hence why they avoided the AJ offers like the plague.
Joshua had no confidence against Ruiz hence why he ran off from a 20 stone fatty. He'd probably cry during the ring walk if he fought Wilder.
Pre Ruiz I agree. Wilders team did not like the AJ match up. The mystique is now long gone though, they would take the fight now. I think AJ would fight anyone. I think Hearn wants to keep him in house on DAZN for a while before a Fury/Wilder etc
You mean AJ who comfortably beat Ruiz on points to become a unified world champion for a second time? Ruiz then went on to beat Wilders only notable opponent in Ortiz. So what does that say about Wilder, if the "fatty" did that?
No I meant the one who was scared of getting clipped and got on his bike. Wilder would knock Ruiz and Joshua out on the same night.
MR attempted to contact Shelley Finkel prior to Usyk fight about arranging a fight late this year but Wilders team failed to reply.
Do you view Fury being on his bike against Wlad? I mean AJ was more offensive, engage and landed more than Fury did against Wlad.
Antony threw more putty patter jabs maybe he threw a couple of right hands circled the blob who was immobile Klitschko was fit active champion and fast for big man fair to say isn’t it Bit different credit joshua home did what he had to but wasn’t hard was it and look at klitschkos face after it lol he looked mangled fury why can’t you credit both but lets be honest Ruiz was like Michelin man weren’t he what a shame
You cant blame Joshua mate he knows his limitations took the safe way smart decision you could argue it wasn’t hard to figure out but if I were him id do same why risk it I was rooting for Antony because I wanted to see him in with fury or wilder Ruiz has no chance against these men because they can take a punch and we’ll they might just be better than Joshua they are harder men
Close to zero chance of this happening for obvious promotional/contractual reasons. Unless the unthinkable happens, and Wilder sings with DAZN/Matchroom USA. To be honest I don't think we are missing much, as the fight is far more predictable and both in final outcome and in the nature of the final outcome than AJ vs Fury. I think it's a KO round 5-6 and that's more or less a forgone conclusion as arguably AJ's biggest weakness is his chin so if he's ever in the right with the biggest single shot puncher in the division....the outcome isn't exact rocket science.
