True. Cuban geriatrics, Gypsies, pastry chefs, uber drivers, football skinheads - he is pushing the diversity yard line up the field.

I think the one that isn't getting it is you. He said that before the fight to sell the fight and said the opposite after it to continue selling himself. After all, his Boxing career is his life. It's how he makes a living to support his family. Try to get that in your head.

With that out of the way, there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. He was good to go and if he wasn't, he wouldn't be allowed to go in there and would be deemed medically unfit. That usually results in postponements which is nothing new in the sport. He lost fair and square and was brutalized from start to finish. He and the viewers alike did not see that coming.

This. I hate when guys make excuses. The whole world seen Fury school him and even beat him at his own game. Early in the first round when Fury’s aggression made Wilder gunshy I knew it was only a matter of time. He totally dominated Wilder.

Wilder kept going on and on about his awkwardness and power during the prefight interviews, but Fury read him like a book and not only beat Wilder, but was even bullying him in the ring and Wilder had no answer.

Wilder should be glad Breland threw in the towel, since Fury would’ve killed him if it went another round.

To be fair, he was so thoroughly outclassed and beaten it's only natural that he'd have trouble accepting what happened.
His trainer Jay Deas has said some weird stuff too. Like distancing himself from the towel throwing.
Breland seemed to be the only one in the corner who really knew what was going down. Saved Wilder from something very nasty at the end there.

I understand when fighters makes excuses for a loss. It's a dangerous sport and you basically have to lie to yourself otherwise you have to step in the ring knowing you're likely going to get hurt.

I mean if Wilder or anyone else who just took a beating realised he simply wasn't good enough to win, how do you find the balls to step back in there? You'd have to be very desperate or a little bit insane to do that, so they lie to themselves rather than face the brutal truth.

Wilder wasn't the first fighter to make BS excuses and he won't be the last.

 Speaking of Bootleg D. I actually feel it's a little insulting to the real Dorticos to even mention Bootleg D's name in the same breath as his now

Yes but when it's that much inferior it just feels wrong to mention them in the same breath as each other.

That’s what people do when they don’t understand why they have lost, especially when they probably have a warm concussion. Give him some time to take it in and understand what just happened. See if he’s still making excuses in 7 days

it’s a bit unfair to judge him on his emotional reactions right after a destruction like that

He didn't "fight in adversity", he was beaten to a pulp and humiliated after all the bombast. He's a joke figure tbh. Them's the breaks for egomaniacs. Retire.

Fury's not the only man who could beat Wilder, he's just the only other high quality opponent Wilder has faced. Whyte and AJ could've actually beaten him worse, as they hit much harder than Fury.

42-1-1 looks impressive, until you see that most of the 42 wins were against tomato cans. I honestly think it's too late to change trainers. At 34, he doesn't have much time left, and he's been fighting like that since his amateur days. He's not just gonna become Muhhamad Ali, after spending over a decade as a one trick pony.
