i kinda feel for wilder he knows deep inside fury is just to strong and powerful for him but he would look really bad if he doesnt take it that and the fact his whole team want it for money reasons he really doesnt have a choice but to take it the worst thing is tyson will even be betetr scary Tyson will stop him again
Horrible move and it shows that Wilders management don't care for him one bit. There is no way he can recover from the beating in such a quick period of time, can he come back down to 209-210 for the rematch without draining himself? Can he magically improve his boxing skills dramatically in such a short period of time? Doubt it
I would say no need for an third fight but I understand why Wilder would take it. People on here were claiming AJ shouldn't rematch Ruiz straight away but you have to remember a fighter wants to avenge defeats.
Zero interest in this. Fury dominated the rounds in the first fight and dominated the man himself in the rematch. I won't spend another $80 to watch it again. Hopefully, Deas or Wilder's fiance will talk him down off his pride. He could walk away tomorrow a multi-millionaire, and at minimum he should take the next 7-8 months to heal and regroup.
It's true, but can he win? I think it's very very unlikely. Fury has figured him out. Joshua's problems with Ruiz were mental. Most of us understood that he *could* win if he were confident and fought the right fight. I don't see an option available to Wilder that would enable him to prevail over Fury.
Finkel is a horrible human being if he puts Wilder in the ring against anyone this summer, much less Fury. Could be another Kid Paret situation.
Uh, right...and the champ does call the shots by agreeing to a rematch clause in the first place. Nobody's holding a gun to any reigning titlist's head and making them sign one.
Wilder has fought bullied 42 tomatoe cans. Then fights fury backing up and fighting off his back foot. Now that he knows what a real fight feels like he better take the rematch or he just a tomatoe killer that i always thought he was
I don't understand the point you are trying to make, i said rematch clauses she be illegal and the champ should call the shots as to who he fights. Fury is now the champ and he can't call the shots because there is a rematch clause that's the entire point. Rematches should be voluntary, the first fight warranted a rematch and it was set up with no prior clause and that's all good. an immediate rematch in this case is not warranted due to the manor of the defeat and the fact everybody wants to see the undisputed fight.
They both agreed ahead of time to have a rematch clause ... you dig? Why should they be illegal if both parties consent to them, and there was no imbalance of influence here (even if you considered Wilder the A-side as champ, it wasn't like he had that much more stroke than Fury...he needed resolution after the draw as much as Fury needed him; they had about equal 'walk-away' leverage in negotiations).
I said the same thing about Joshua and Ruiz. If it's not a mandatory defence then the champ is doing you a favour by defending his belt against you. If you don't like it then don't sign the contract and get yourself a mandatory position.
Wilder is already hitting his mid thirties and isn’t likely to dramatically improve. There are three options here: 1. Rematch 2. Step aside money with contract for winner of Fury/Joshua (or just Fury) 3. Retire (He won’t.) Option 1 makes the most sense for him because banking on Fury beating Joshua is a gamble and Joshua probably wouldn’t be on board with a contract to fight Wilder.
