I saw many people comparing Wilder and Baer! But Wilder also uses jab to settle his big right hand! In my opinion he is very similar to Ron Lyle in terms of style! What is your opinion?
Lyle is a boxer-puncher, Wilder is not. He doesn't use his jab that much, literally just as a 1-2. Baer is a closer comparison, but not close at all. Wilder's pretty unique in his approach.
I think Wilder s an upmarket version of Razor Ruddock!!!! There, I've said it, and I feel better for it.
don’t really see this contrast either, but good job for getting closer than Baer Cleveland and Lyle IMO
No disrespect intended but I can't see a likeness between Ron and Wilder. Ron boxed more and had a bigger ring IQ, he did use his jab well at times while Wilder hardly uses his at all, something I've been amazed his trainers haven't addressed or developed.
Me neither. Lyle to me was a boxer-puncher and fair-to-middling technician. He was, at the time he was fighting, a bit of a rare commodity, amongst a crop of out-boxers, sluggers, swarmers and stalkers. He could and did go to the trenches, when he needed to but, in the main, he tried to hold his form, jab and look for opportunities to land his right. The above is a lot simplistic, but all I can say is that these^ are not words I would use to describe Wilder.
We'll keep trying phill, have to go through the entire list of heavyweights from the dawn of time, till we get someone that EVERYONE agree s reminds them of D. WILDER.! Your turn..
Lyle used his big swing punches if you see beggining of Foreman war with him and he used his right hand same way!Lyle could fight going backward and Willder could too! Also Willder is big angry persona like Lyle while Baer liked to act like a clown and he was sweatharted!
