I favour Usyk in that matchup but this is a myth. Wilder was 75-63 up according to Compubox, most cards on Eyeonthering have Wilder up and the judges had Wilder 6-2 up. Wilder and his team are aware of his A-side/hometown advantage and it has an effect on strategy.

If Wilder was to fight Usyk he wouldn't bother trying to keep his nose in front like he did against Szpilka and he wouldn't expect Usyk to slow down as he did against Ortiz the 2nd time. Wilder would solely go for the KO, from the opening bell. He'd have a better chance than AJ due to his greater length, speed, power, determination, confidence, killer instinct, unconventionality and southpaw experience.

Maybe you're right, but for me Szpilka won 4 or 5 rounds of the first 8.

I feel Wilder would probably go for broke but he's very very predictable with his right hand, a man like Usyk will see it coming from a mile away, of course there is a chance he lands that right hand, but I'm not sure it would KO Usyk, he would need to land more than one IMO. Usyk is iron chinned with ridiculous recovery, he can hurt Usyk for sure but he'd then need to land 2 or 3 more big shots to finish him.

It doesn't matter if I give Szpilka all 8 of the 8 completed rounds. Wilder's strategy isn't based around our opinion but the opinion of the American judges. He knows if he keeps the rounds fairly close against the B-side, he won't lose on the cards. This gives him more opportunities to setup the right hand that he'd have if he had to put a lot of time and energy into pointfigting.

People on the internet talk about how predictable Wilder's right hand is but the likes of Wlad Klitschko talk about how unpredictable it is, how fast it comes in and from odd angles that you don't see coming.

Is Usyk defensively better than Fury? They only have one mutual opponent and that's Chisora, who was able to land a lot more on Usyk than he did on Fury. Likewise, AJ landed a hell of a lot more on Usyk than Wlad did on Fury. So it's no forgone conclusion that Usyk evades the right hand for 36 minutes or could take it flush, Wilder would be a live dog in that fight.

    Styles make fights.

I don’t dare to say with 100% certainty that Wilder does not KO Usyk.

    Possible but highly unlikely.
    Wilder is way too limited.
    Usyk will disarm the bomb.

    It’s
Literally the only weapon he has to concern himself with.

Wilder would have to CONSISTENTLY connect on Usyk's chin throughout one round in order to at least drop him, so it is unlikely that it will happen. Usyk would have to become immobilized for that to occur.

Agreed with OP. Wilder KOs every man he gets in with except fury (and maybe big Joey Joyce)

I doubt it, it's highly unlikely he lands that telegraphed right hand against someone as slick as Usyk and even if he does, everything we've seen suggests Usyk has a granite chin, even better than Fury's who's been down a number of times before Wilder, so if Wilder lands a right hand bomb, Usyk probably shakes it off and goes back to beating Wilder all around the ring.

Wilder has landed his right hand on every man he has shared a ring with. Including multiple times on an ATG slickster.

Expect Wilder to start getting Ko'd on a regular basis.

If Usyk stopped wilder without getting dropped Fury’s fans would commit mass suicide .

78IQsportstv has convinced me otherwise! Wilder likes that right hand and starches Usyk. Those are facts!

Sounds like the best humanitarian act Usyk could make.

Wilder never fought ATG or a slickster.
