That just shows how good of a fighter Holmes was, Tyson was getting flattened by Danny Williams at a younger age. That still doesn't mean Holmes wasn't way past his best in 88.

    I personally can't agree
I know you like Wilder but 80s Tyson was a phenomenon who everyone knew... Worldwide

He always had name value and could bring punters to the stands

    Even today sadly
Wilder if he loses, is getting frozen out by Matchroom as Hearn has said and Fury moves on
No demand for him to be placed back in the mix by fans so does he fight his way back to mandatory or as i suspect take some favoritism and fight a bum to take that spot

I honestly think he is done and will regret that DAZN offer down the line
How can he not when he looks back

DAZN offered him money to fight Breazeale and then two fights with Joshua. That was the deal. But a couple weeks after Wilder beat Breazeale, Joshua lost.

So there's nothing to regret. If Wilder would've signed the DAZN deal, there was no Joshua fight to be had.

He'd likely still be sitting on the shelf for more than a year waiting because Joshua would've had to have rematch with Ruiz, and then Covid hit and everything got cancelled. And now Joshua has to fight mandatories.

Instead, Wilder fought Ortiz a second time, Fury a second time, and he's coming back to fight Fury again ... and DAZN may not exist by the time that third fight takes place.

Him or his party clearly declined the offer before AJ lost
So plenty to regret as he could have sewed up his terms which would have covered any potential lose by either fighter in between but he chose to point blank refuse the deal
Even firing a guy for talking about it

If he'd first appeared in 1975 he'd go unbeaten until 1990.

Right. But had they taken the deal before the Breazeale fight, Joshua would've still fought Ruiz. And Joshua still would've lost.

That's what I'm saying. If Wilder had taken the deal and fought Breazeale on DAZN, the rest of the DAZN deal was gone when Joshua lost.

And if the deal was you get to fight Joshua for the belts, he'd still be sitting around waiting to fight Joshua for the belts.

His last fight would've been Breazeale a year ago this month. And today he'd be watching the company that offered him the deal looking for buyers because they are going bankrupt.

So I don't think there are any regrets. Everything with that offer turned upside down when Joshua lost.

That's true but that old, shot Holmes would win against 98% of Wilder's resume. Sad but true.

Im looking at the nest egg here i guess
    Not the legacy and belts
With the right deal in place, regardless of results he would be able to retire comfortably
Now depending on his lifestyle, he has to fight for it

He was always going to have to fight for it. The point is, if he'd taken the deal, he'd still be waiting to fight for it.

Whatever. I doubt he regrets the DAZN deal because he still wouldn't have faced Joshua and DAZN may not be around long enough to have ever paid him.

He's made plenty of money with the Ortiz rematch, the Fury rematch and will for the third Fury fight upcoming. That's better than sitting on the shelf and not fighting (and not getting paid) at all.

    It's all a crapshoot.

He wouldn't have earned $120 million if he'd taken the deal. Joshua lost. They were paying him that much to fight Joshua.

Had he taken the deal, he'd have fought Breazeale, and he'd still be waiting.

Tyson would have beaten Wilder down like he did to Jose Ribalta.

I agree. The bums and has-beens Tyson beat were 10 times better than the bums Wilder has feasted on.
