Povetkin heads the WBA and WBO, Pulev the IBF. AJ sold out a 78k stadium for Pulev last year. Povetkin may do more given the boost to his profile on Saturday. AJ will make perhaps 15-20mill for each defence. Doesn't sound so bad to me?
I understand why Wilder is probably a bit bitter (Hearn told him he cant enter the ring after the fight) but in all honesty... if Wilder doesnt go its a bad move on his part. Go... talk the talk... put the pressure on...
I support Wilder but saying Hearn is acting like a plantation owner is cheap race baiting garbage spouted for simpletons by simpletons.
A million UK buys. At $20 bucks a pop. No buys elsewhere. A Wilder-Joshua Unification (two undefeateds in their primes for all the heavyweight belts) is a million buys at $85 to $100 a pop JUST in the U.S. It's the biggest money fight out there. Whether you guys want to deny it or not.
Except neither will be PPV in the U.S. So it'll make the same as all the other Joshua fights made, or less. It won't be a step up. And I doubt the Joshua-Pulev rescheduled fight is as big a seller as it would've been a year ago. Pulev isn't viewed in the same light.
This news makes Deontay sound like **** but I think it became a necessary move when it became apparent Eddie only wanted Deontay to come so he could send Whyte at him to aggravate that situation and create some sort of minor feud and buzz that would get the English public demanding a Whyte-Wilder fight
$30 isn't the same as $30 UK PLUS $100 per PPV in the U.S. None of Joshua's fights are ppv in the U.S.
I understand that. But they are selling NO PPVs in the U.S. with Joshua. They can still put Wilder-Joshua on PPV in the UK, and it will also be on PPV in the US for $100 (which is the rate now). Joshua vs no one else is a PPV in the U.S.
Right. I'm sure Wilder-Joshua for all the belts will head straight to Fox Sports 2 on a Thursday night. Genius.
There's a subtle difference between those two figures though. One of them is based on actual receipts from previous AJ fights. The second is pure supposition on your part based on Wilder's history of grossing 0$ from US PPV.
To be fair wilder has made his share of racist comments towards hearn he made another one today. I think he is probably racist himself
You are the only person I know that thinks it would be PPV in America. If you can point to some article etc that shows there is a good chance of this happening, I will stand corrected? I can see how Joshua could be PPV in America if the Wilder fight turns out to very entertaining, or Joshua impresis America, but most people think the American market is on deaths door.
