Joshua vs Klitschko..... 1.5 million PPV buys in the UK. (Largest in UK history) 10.4 million viewers in Germany. 920,000 viewers in Poland. 659,000 on showtime....the largest audience showtime has ever had for a lunchtime show. 738,000 on HBO....and it was only a replay! @Dubblechin
So how many viewers in Poland and Germany did Joshua-Takam draw? It drew 300,000 on Showtime last week. Nothing on HBO. Sort of a death spiral-like fall there in viewership, wasn't it? And there aren't any more Joshua-Wlad fights coming. But, hey, I'm sure they'll put together a nice undercard for the Joshua-Tom Schwarz WBO mando PPV. Just keep smiling and paying those PPV fees.
I would pay £20 for most Anthony Joshua fights. I personally believe Hearn puts on good cards, especially considering they're like 1/4 of the costs of US PPV's. But i look forward to Joshua vs Parker, Joshua vs Fury etc etc. Maybe even fights with Haye and Usyk. Then maybe in a few year Joshua vs Dubois, where Dubois takes the mantle from Joshua in a similar style to Joshua vs Wlad.
On a mid-afternoon card on showtime, the record for viewership is held by Anthony Joshua. Not an American....
Why are Americans getting cocky over the fact a AMERICAN Heavyweight champions is getting more ratings in AMERICA than the BRITISH Heavyweight Champion who is fighting in BRITAIN on a AMERICAN NETWORK.Joshua is going to HBO after his next fight so he's numbers will automatically improve by then he will probably be fighting in the US against Wilder/mIller
It shows how far Americans having fallen in the heavyweights when they brag about there guy doing slightly better numbers in a prime time slot than a English fight at around lunch time in most of the country
Just one but they all gather to watch it. In Alabama everyone knows that when Deontay boy is fightin' y'all must grab yer best overalls and get together with some beer and barbecue because it is time to partay!
