I'm curious to know if anybody knows why this fight was never made in the pro ranks? I know the window's passed now but say about five years ago I would have thought this would have been an interesting fight, the promotors could have sold this as Wilder facing the man who knocked him out in the amateurs. Do you know if this fight was ever discussed by either party?
Doesn't seem like a mystery just based on Zimnoch's boxrec. He took that draw in his 4th pro fight and one fight later went back to Poland where he's remained ever since. He took forever to go from 4/6 rounders to 8/10 rounders and lost some of the latter. It's not like there's a financial incentive either. Even from a competitive perspective, Wilder was green as hell in his amateur career. Prob would've just been another of his squash matches.
I'll will cover all the cash bets you want if Zimnoch or Romanov face Wilder. You guys living off amateur experience for any boxers have no idea how it works in real life in the pro ranks.
