That guarantee will need to be massively downsided for a third fight.

Insane when you think Mayweather got a $40 million guarantee for the canelo fight. That was on the back of us knowing that fight was going to record numbers. Canelo got a $12 million guarantee. How did Wilder and Fury get a combined bigger guarantee than those two?

It just seems like they really believed it was going to do much bigger numbers than it did which is bizarre as network exces are not stupid.

AJ cannot do the same numbers in the US as UK PPVs are cheaper

The triology will do even more in 2021. Give Wilder some rest & a tune up

On sky sports ppv if it's 29.95. But 80.00 to order? Hell no.

    Will it though?

I don't see Canelo v GGG being as big third time round.

    Look at Holyfield Vs Bowe.

    First fight 900k buys
    Second fight 950k buys
    Third fight 650k buys

We've had two fights which one could argue was dominated by one fighter.

The second fight was so conclusive that wilder would have to do some serious work for people to believe he could win. Tune ups won't cut it, he has to come back and beat some top ranked fighters. AJ or Whyte. Wilder beating and couple cans won't do the job.

This is a different fight from all the ones you listed. There will be a trilogy.

Two loud mouth talkers, the fight sells itself.
Wilder will chase Fury for a third. It's inevitable

Irrelevant. People need to believe a fighter can win.

Bowe v Holyfield had the drama of the second fight when I guy got in the ring from there air.

To say that fight didn't have casual appeal is ridiculous.

Well there's a very high chance there will be a third. Just hope Fury stays in shape.

Doesn't Coppinger work for DAZN? He just ball licks everything DAZN so take this with a grain of salt

The difference would of been the guarantees. Lewis and Holyfield split $30 mill in guarantees so $15 mill each. It's rumoured Wilder and Fury both had $25 mill guarantees. If that's true you can see why one made money and the other didn't as there is a $20 mill discrepancy in the guarantees.

DAZN coming in and paying huge money has changed the game. Forcing them to make bigger guarantees and make a loss in the short term in the hope DAZN and other similar platforms run out of money before they do.

Exactly. Wilder turning down that DAZN deal meant he had to be compensated by Fox.

Whether DAZN has been a success is one question but what can't be denied is they have changed the game.

Their is no way other promoters are going to turn down huge site fee offers from Saudi Arabia. That money is just too good to turn away when it's guaranteed.

Why spend a fortune Banking on ppv buys when that money can be guaranteed up front.

That’s actually better than I expected. I know they had a lot of promotion, but with the ridiculous price tag and boxing, especially hw boxing, in America not being in a great spot, I don’t see any pay per views breaking a million anymore:
