Hope Wilder makes a statement but I just feel like he's gonna disappoint

A 50 year old man on more than one kind of blood pressure medicine might beat Wilder, but Wilder has HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE! Want to buy Haymon Boxing insurance? If you are a boxer, you can't lose if you have it, you can become a champion by fighting winos from the alley, never have to fight a legit fighter ever!

Wilder bladders Ortiz, who is a slow and stationary target. Ortiz does not have the head movement or speed to avoid Wilders long and looping power shots. Ortiz also is a Cuban so he will get hurt and get counted out.

Yes Ortiz has a tight guard and yes he has far better skills, but Wilder will use his speed and athleticism to overcome it. Wilder will also punch through and around his guard- and it only takes one long and looping right hand to send an opponent into la la land. Ortiz does set traps but he is so slow to capitalise on them, that Wilder will already be out of harms way.

    Wilder KO7 Ortiz

Ortiz has got all the abilities to beat wilder EXCEPT footspeed.

Were this not a haymon/wilder fight I'd make wilder a slight favorite but give ortiz a decent shot just pending if he could cut the ring off on wilder because up close it's all ortiz

But it IS a haymon/wilder fight isn't it so basically Ortiz has zero chance and im not even excited to watch ortiz lie down

Surprised so many are going for Wilder unless they believe the fix is in. They can't honestly think Wilder is in with a chance otherwise, do they?

Wilder is not on Ortiz's level. You don't go from struggling with Szpilka and Duhaupas, getting outjabbed by Washington and rocked by Molina to suddenly outboxing and KOing a world class professional like Ortiz. Ortiz is by far the best opponent Wilder has ever faced, even old, over the hill or whatever people are saying about him. He's built like a tank, punches holes through metal and has bucketloads of experience and ringcraft to make up for his athletic shortcomings. Yes he's slow-footed and tends to have problems cutting guys down, but you're not going to win rounds off him unless you engage like Jennings did, and that puts you right in his danger zone.

Wilder has the length and speed of hand and foot to keep Ortiz at bay, but he doesn't have anywhere near the skills or composure to do so. And I very much doubt he can emulate his first performance against Stiverne considering his past few performances. Plus, he'll not only have to emulate it but better it to beat Ortiz, and I just don't see him doing that.

Wilder wins one of three ways:

    - he runs around the ring and wins a robbery decision
    - he lands something huge and knocks Ortiz out
    - Ortiz takes a dive

There's no way in hell he outboxes Ortiz on the level, and I'll become a lifelong member of Bum Squad if he does.

I see some parallels in this to the Groves-Jr fight. One is the more proven technical fighter whilst the other is stated to be an excellent athlete with a high work rate. The former is likely to gas and will probably be overwhelmed by the younger and more ferocious fighter. The limitations of the former seem very obvious to me (in a technical sense) and I don't understand what it is I'm failing to see.

I was right last time out. Which most likely means I'm super duper wrong this time out

Big Luis has great foot speed compared to Buffet Bermane, and he knows how to cut the ring and fight deep in the pocket unlike Stiverne again. Wilder is going to be laid out unless he can keep Ortiz at bay with the jab. I don't see it.

I'm rooting for old Luis Ortiz.

But I think the younger man with home advantage will win. Ortiz having a long period of inactivity won't help. Wilder has been very protected, his handlers must have seen that Ortiz is past his prime and so is not dangerous now, or this fight would not be happening.

I'm gonna go with Wilder by decision.
I don't think Ortiz is gonna be able to
catch him based on his last few fights.

I'd laugh my ass off if Ortiz ko'd him however

People are severely ignoring the number one rule which is ALMOST constant....

Just about 95% of the time challengers up their game in title fights.

If Ortiz weighs less than 240...it could be a game changer.

If Ortiz comes in 235, and Wilder 220...I may go with Ortiz here?
