I got Barrera. Gomez definitely had a great, dominant run at 122, but he never fought anyone on Barrera's level.

As good as Pintor and Zarate were, they were both bantamweights, and they represented the best Gomez fought at the weight. On the other had Barrera proved himself against Morales. Moreover, Gomez always trotted out weight/lifestyle excuses for his loses to Nelson and Sanchez, but I always find it weird that a guy is weirdly unmotivated and loses to the two best fighters he met in the ring. Just seems funny to me. While its true that Barrera got melted in his first fight with Junior Jones, at his best he proved that he had a special combination of resolve and skill.

Also, Gomez' tendency to bend the rules would NOT fly with Barrera. Hahaha.

    Fantastic matchup.

I would lean towards Gomez, and especially if over 15.

I really wouldn't care who won, I would just want to see it.

Barrera at 126 but Gomez was IMO the GOAT at 122 a true highly skilled wrecking machine
