I thought burns ducked broner and fought kat but fighting kat over broner at the time was the better option. Broner will fight burns maybe his next fight or the one after that but it will happen soon enough, its so early to be calling either guy a duck over this fight, its only recently been spoken of.
At least Burns had the decency to move up in weight when he could no longer make the SFW limit, the same cannot be said for Broner.
happens when you're a young pro fighter new in the game and on the come up. One day you wake up and you just can't make the weight, the body ages and cutting weight gets harder its a learning lesson for young fighters. When they are seasoned they have no excuse for struggling with weight they would of had experience moving up or down in weight, some pro's are better at dealing with it than other and have better techniques for dealing moving weight, jmm and hopkins do it exceptionally.
Burns - Broner is the fight to make but not right now Burns vs Valasquez - WBO/IBF Broner/Demarco vs Richard Abril - WBC/WBA Winner vs Winner - WBO/WBA/WBC/IBF Ring Mag Id like to see it in late 2013
I spoke to someone who works for Ricky's manager yesterday about this and I have to say I wasn't hopeful after what I heard. They said that unless Broner gets the mandatory, they won't be going to Vegas for less than 50/50 or a remarkable offer, which I suppose is fair, but I'm not sure Broner would agree when Ricky's not the name over there. Not saying it's gospel though,so please don't think it's a direct quote from Ricky's camp. Broner needs that #1 spot to force the issue here, because Ricky wants it,but it's not him I'm worried about.
Let's face it, b'sides having kayoed Mitchell is sensational fashion, Burns has 9 KOs or 10KOs and has not faced anybody. It makes sense that Broner fights DeMarco cause they live in the States. Bunce was yellin in his style for the Box Nation spectators and in Glasgow that they should fight in Glasgow... Broner may not want to fight for the WBO LW Title overseas and that doesn't mean ducking Burns. Let Burns stay inside the LW limit and travel to the States.
Fair enoughski. Though its still harsh on the guy who has to face him whose options are to lose alot of money by pulling out or to potentially risk his health fighting someone outweighing him considerably. Not that it did Chavez any good mind you.
