I think he will or atleast can become GSP like at 155 but IMO he isnt quite there yet. BJs "dominance" at Lightweight is extremly overatted he never even won the title until less then 2 years ago.

:good Truth be told GSP is the BJ Penn of the welterweight division!! In fact BJ is as dominant a champion as any, in arguably the toughest division of all!

The fact that he has only been 155 champion for a couple of years is true, but how long has GSP been champion this time around? As you know, GSP had to re-gain the title after getting ko'd in one round off Serra (Who himself fought at 155 for most of his career). The fact is mate that BJ is the best fighter the lightweight division has ever known and one of the reasons he hasn't been champion for longer is because as you know the UFC scrapped their 155 weight class! BJ left the UFC and ended up fighting guys like Lyoto Machida!! When he came back, he quickly became the ruler of the 155 division. As you know, he beat Matt Hughes, when Hughes was the 170 champ and considered unbeatable. I only mention this point as evidence that this guy often competed against and defeated world class fighters from other weight classes, which is another reason why the guy wasn't the 155 champ. I am a huge GSP fan, the man is a superb fighter, but I truly do consider Penn to be as dominant a champion as GSP. But I do hope he learns from the beating he took from Georges and stays at 155, just as I hope GSP never moves up to 185!!
