No I can Find U loads of sites which are very reliable on the topic of ducking Calzaghe,

and yea i do find that joe calzaghe would be more creditited as the best pound 4 pound if he did fight 3 or 4 times in 2008 if mayweather didnt

it just makes more sense as there will be to many question wundering if cotto could beat mayweather where as calzaghe is answering his critics so yea i think he could be #1

    dont rule it out coronacards

Calzaghe should be at no 2.

Floyd gets No 1 on achievements.

To become no1 p4p he would have do something close to what Floyd has done.Maybe win Titles at both LHW and cruiserweight.

You guys dont respect a champ who has had the longest ever reign in boxing , held the belt for 10 years , flyodd may have won all these belts but he doesnt go up and down to defend evrey one of them calzaghe faught the number 1 they sent him and beat him good

    1) Calzaghe wouldn't fight more than twice in a year.

    2) Please show me proof of all of the fighters ducking Calzaghe, since you claimed you could, but provided no links...

Ok...let's not go overboard here, though...Joe didn't beat only world-beaters for 10 years...;)

I think PAC is number 2 P4P. Joe is #3. He gets #1 if he moves up and cleans out.

Not to make this whole place explode haha, but, why wasn't Hatton above Calzaghe? He had a similar record, against arguably better competition...

Besides, JC reigned supreme over the WBO belt. He didn't try to unify until the Lacy fight, right???

Calzaghe didnt fight only becuase off his hands , he even said himself that he would of had loads more but his hands are fine now and feels really confident going in the new year! so there will be more than 2 fights especially as Joe will cash in on his new found fame! I aint gotta clue how pac is higher than calzaghe thats just crazy beliving that! Hatton just never defended his belts as much he left his belts to fight no number1 contenders

Ummm...leaving your belts to fight the best is more respectable than keeping the belts to fight average fighters, isn't it???

Jose Luis Castillio? The Best? when the number 1 contender was junior witter i belive now that would of been a classic! and average fighters i admit manfredo was the worse opponent to think of but with the fighters he is going for now and he has defeated loads of top quality oppersition mostly with ease!

One/Two of the belts was also under the jurisdiction of a German by the name of Ottke for some time - so that pretty much ruled out unification due to the Germans not letting the belt (or judges) across their border.

You make some very good points, but you have one major fault in your analysis...

JC HASN'T DONE IT YET. I fully agree that Calzaghe is GREAT. But Floyd has beaten better fighters in multiple divisions.

Calzaghe has beaten 1 HOFer, 1 VERY GOOD fighter now, 1 VERY OVERRATED fighter, and a lot of sub-par unworthy challengers.

Beating an old Jones is irrelevant. I don't think JC even could touch a prime Roy Jones. JC would get embarrassed.

Beating Hopkins is irrelevant. He's 43, and most Calzaghe fans I've talked to say he's completely overrated anyway.

WHEN CALZAGHE WAS YOUNGER, AND HAD THE CHANCE TO MOVE UP IN WEIGHT AND LOOK FOR THE BIGGEST FIGHTS, he didn't. Maybe his hands stopped him partially. PBF has had bad hands, HE STILL FOUGHT BETTER COMPETITION.

It's not personal. I just don't think being the undefeated WBO 168 champ for 10 years qualifies you to ALMOST be #1 P4P.

saying JC would get emmbarrased by a RJJ is a long arrgument which i have many points for both sides but in the end i would of seen a UD for Calzaghe ,

Jeff Lacy was over rated after calzaghe faced him, but in comparrision was expected to be the next big thing and joe took him on and not only beat him but anniliated him worse than mayweather did to hatton

beating a legend liike hopkins would be a remarkeable achievement , so would hopkins even if they are past there best calzaghe would really show these another boxing lesson just like all the other fighters he faced

JC adapts to any boxers style he can box with the most technical (eubank), he can out manouever the fastest sheika , go to to toe with the strongest (Kssler , Mitchell) just like mayweather can

I just feel Joe Calzaghe is the better boxer than Mayweather in the future months with all these different attributes with him and his record in boxing will be bigger than mayweather at the close end of 2008
