To me, Calzaghe has shown absolutely nothing to indicate he could ever win more than 2 or 3 rounds against a peak Roy Jones.

Why is Kessler so strong? Because he knocked out most of the low-level fighters that he fought? That doesn't make him "the strongest of fighters".

JC missed his chance. He spent his career sitting on his ass in Europe fighting "the bum of the month club". Now that he (at 35) is ready to fight some decent fighters, he only calls out the old men.

Did he call out Roy Jones before Jones got knocked out twice??? I have followed boxing for sometime, and never recall JC making an attempt to make big fights.

ALSO, YOU SAID YOU HAD LINKS TO SHOW ME WHERE ALL THESE GREAT FIGHTERS DUCKED CALZAGHE. STILL GOT THE LINKS???

Yea AM still looking for them some of them were of 2002

What you may no your boxing but you havent seen calzaghe fight in the L8 nighties did ya much because his skill was unberlievable , a tremendous talent Calzaghe could of beaten JC definally not with ease but hey he would give him a hell of a fight , Calzaghe aint no Woods

bum of the month was Manfredo name me five more Bums of the month club members in 25 year carreer of a winner

I will always remember RJJ saying I wont fight calzaghe because he aint big name! and that was a hell of a long time ago when the warren tried to make the fight

Mger Mkrtchian, Kabary Salem, Byron Mitchell (who knocked Calzaghe down), Tocker Pudwill (replacement, but still), Charles Brewer, etc.

I mean it's not like they are all ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL fighters, but it's obvious he wasn't looking for a challenge...

I just have one question, honestly...DO YOU THINK JC ACTIVELY SEARCHED FOR THE BEST FIGHTERS IN THE WORLD TO FACE OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST 8 YEARS???

If Calzaghe beats this version of Hopkins, how impressive will it need to be?

If he just get by, will he still be relegated to just another good fighter, nothing special?

Its got **** all to do with that. You cant spend the majority of your career fighting in anonymity in Wales and then complain that no one has heard of him.His hardly that popular in Britain and has only just become a semi-household name. He reigned at a time when 68 was monumentally weak and ruled by Sven who did nothing to make 68 popular. His also only had 3 meaningful bouts in his career.Lacy Kessler and an old Eubank.Although all great wins there not the type of wins that are going to propel him to P4P number 1 status.

If Floyd retires and Calzaghe beats Hopkins, Dawson, and Woods, he should be P4P number 1.

So...who were those great fighters Joe should have fought? Do you think he could have got them to agree to fight him?

:thumbsup Couldnt agree more. For years Joe was berated as a comfort zone fighter and despite his wins this hasnt changed the past which is tainted irrevocably. For the 3 fights his had with "name" opponents his ledger is still littered with flotsom like Pudwill Jiminez and Will Mcytre aswell as a bunch of consonants no one can pronounce.Joe is a good boxer and will be eligible for the HOF but his not a "Great" nor an ATG nor a fighter deserving of recognition as the best fighter on the planet.I mean Enzo still hasnt taught him how to punch with the knuckle of the glove yet!:yep

Hopkins priced himself out. Apparently several other big name fighters declined his offer to fight. WTF is Joe supposed to do? It's taken him aeons to get a fight with BHOP. Damn. The guy can't be cut no slack whatever he does. He'll always be called "euro bum" and a "slapper" and god knows how many other names forever.
