Will Canelo vs Crawford be bigger than Manny vs Floyd?

I agree that Bud isn't just looking for a payday. I think he believes he can win. He is carrying himself very much the same way he did when he was around Spence. Very confident and always smiling. Like he knows something nobody else does.
It is still a tall order for Crawford to pull this off. This would be a big win. I can't think of a win bigger than this. Jumping up 2 divisions to fight someone like Canelo. Pretty impressive if Bud does it. I will be rooting for him.

Definitely a tall order. He isn't just going up to face a good opponent 2/3 divisions up.......he's seeking out the undisputed champion of that division. That in itself is a cocky/brave/crazy/bold/intriguing action...... Sylvester Stallone couldn't have put together a better script.....lol.

Crawford isn't a big star, isn't interested in trying to sell himself, and he doesn't have a engaging personality either. Nothing wrong with that

Clenelo doesn't have an engaging personality either but he has a boxing mad country behind him albeit granted he's despised by most of his countrymen

The best way I could describe Clenelo is he's like a ginger haired ventriloquist's dummy but with even less personality and charisma and when he does lower his guard and give us a flash of his personality it starts and ends with him dropping F bombs

I'm not sure PPV is a good gauge for measuring popularity. The PPV numbers don't reflect how many people watch the fight or interested to watch the fight. A lot of PPV happen in bars, casinos, and friends putting money together to watch the fight. A lot of people also watch the replays later online. I have not heard anyone clamor for this fight, while I do remember a lot of casual fans clamoring for the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight.

    Nope.
You wont see random YouTubers suddenly vlogging about how they are going to go and see the fight live.

At the time I was watching a lot of different shows on the platform, and suddenly every American was talking about this fight. There was an Asian podcast like show, and even they brought it up. "But they are Asians! They must love Manny!" Nah, they only knew him by name, and half of them thought that he was undefeated like Floyd.
Everyone was talking about Floyd vs Manny.
