Will Chris Jr or D Whyte ever win World Titles?

Will either of these multi millionaires ever win a world title in their illustrious domestic careers?

It's amazing how today you can make millions of pounds in the game without actually proving yourself!

Take James Cook and Gary Mason back in the day - they didn't have a pot to **** in when they packed it in.

Titus Bramble retired a multi millionaire. I've no issue with fighters making big money if they can.

But to answer the question; no.

 

I think Jr has the better chance of the two. If Fury, Wilder, Joshua, Usyk, Dubois & Ruiz were all on the same plane & it crashed, Whyte could.

 

Whyte won't as long as he's with Hearn. I don't think Jr's heart is truly in boxing if I'm honest or at least it isn't his sole career goal and you can't blame him tbh.

 

I am sure Eubank could probably beat the last guy saunders beat for the WBO or the one that Andrade beat so winning world title is not as impressive as you make it out to be.

 

Jnr is the IBO Champion.

 

Why not, Ruiz did it - who saw that coming? Not Mexico.

 

I don't think either of them will, unless they get a shot for a vacant one against some no mark

 

Both capable, it will just come down to who they fight and how they perform on the night.

Its not like they are miles away, they are top contenders.

None of the top guys at heavy are invincible they all can be knocked out and Whyte hits just as hard as anyone so sure why not.

As for eubank, he's a warrior he has a chance against anyone on heart alone.

 

Chris Jr has the better chance. SMW have seen some poor world champions recently, and Chris would be a decent pick against some we've seen. Dillian has a much harder task, and with the propsects coming through it's only going to get harder for him.

 

You can 'prove yourself' without winning a world title. Whyte was kickboxing all that long ago and is now Ring Magazine number 5 and not too long ago, he was number 4.

There are also people that put blood sweat and tears in to winning a British Title because that is their ceiling and winning that for them is more special than a very talented kid going on to win a world title.

 

It isn't a given in this era that a titleholder is top 5 in the division, so it is eminently possible that solid top 10 types like Whyte and Eubank could find themselves in a winnable title fight. Sometimes it's about the opportunity; in brutally simple terms George Groves won a world title by eventually finding someone he was able to beat. If he had kept on fighting the #1 champion in the division, he wouldn't have done.

Neither Whyte or Eubank are likely to be the man, but there's a decent chance that they can win a shot for a vacant title or against a weaker champion.

 

If Ruiz Jnr v Joshua 2 didn't happen and a fight with Whyte was taken as a so called easy option to avoid sharing the ring with Fury and Wilder for a while I would give Whyte a decent chance, purely because he would almost definitely take the fight into places that Ruiz Jnr has never been before at the top level, he'd make it horrible, naughty and messy. If you throw in that Ruiz Jnr isn't the boxing genius, Heavyweight Amir Khan hands, Grante chinned, Saturday Night Fever on MDMA footwork king of the ring that for a few days it seemed a lot of people thought he was then you have to give Whyte a chance. It will never, ever, happen though, so no, I don't think Whyte will win a belt, something drastic and against the ordinary needs to happen for that to happen and, in 2019 and onwards, it just won't.

Eubank Jnr could, the SMW division is messy after looking good for a period. By the time he's ready for Smith I think Smith will have moved up. If Benavidaz beats Dirrell, which he will, I can't see him winning the WBC. Caleb Plant is beatable, he's also decent enough too, he's got a chance against him I suppose. His best chance is getting a fight against someone second rate, BJS style, for the WBA if Smith vacates it, or the WBO if BJS gets in with him. The latter won't happen because BJS is a f**king moron that nobody has the patience for anymore, Warren aside, so the IBF and WBA are probably his only two chances and I honestly can't see it happening, especially if he gets PPV offers to fight an over the hill fighter again ie. Braehmer or someone.

 

Whyte could def pick up a trinket like the WBA regular or even a legit title if they get scattered to the cosmic ****ing winds post a second Ruiz win over Joshua.
