This is totally unrelated, but Tito actually made 15 title defenses, and even if it was 17, that still wouldn't be the WW record, because that's the 19 defenses made by Henry Armstrong.

It was 16 my fault ... He won the title at 19-0 and finished 36-0 after his last WW fight ... now if you subtract the initial bout to win the title thats 16. And yes that was a WW record. I don't know if you've ever seen Henry Armstrong fight live but I hate when people come up with some far fetched **** from fighters long ago ... I'm not even going to go back and fourth with you about son ... you're right !!

    Thread over?

Will that mean he'll have a better resume/ career than Tito?

I think cotto is a perfect "PRODUCT". He has chosen his opponents carefully and intelligently and his promoters are doing a good job with him. He is not being rushed and certainly not going up in weight much to prove his dominance which is stupid the way DLH and Tito did with Hopkins. I believe Cotto has a really good chance at being an ATG depending on how everything works with PBF. That is what a champion is all about not like PBF who is after fame and money. He reminds me of Chaves what a true champion.

:huh Please explain to me how a "perfect product" is a model champion compared to the linear WW champion who has beaten top guys from 130 all the way to 154. Your products opponents were picked and therefore hasn't been tested outside of his comfort zone correct? Just because Cotto comes off humble doesn't mean he is a better champ than PBF.

Yea I give props for all PBF achievements dont get me wrong theres not much for him to prove that he is good but thats just what pisses me off he has the ablitily to be great but instead hes acting like a ***** and doing other things(WWE). On the other hand we have a guy like Cotto who is now in his prime and man handling the WW division and proving it without ever even saying "I am the Best". As far as Tito goes I dont know is he really that great I mean he beat Pernell who was abliterated by Chavez, who was semi- retired by Oscar. I dont think Tito is all that great.

The good thing about Cotto is that he is fighting in a division where he belongs (or actually he was big for a LWW).

Tito on the other hand shold have just stayed at 154 lbs max. You can see Tito's arms are no bigger than that of SFWs like Pac, etc.

Whats wrong with Mayweather giving these up and coming guys duke it out for a chance to face him and at the same time get some more pub to a different type of fan base.

He's just acting w/ WWE and i'm pretty sure he's still training and sparring quite often.

Cotto already has big wins under his resume. Torres, Malignaggi, and Quintana are looking much better now. Mosley and Judah are great on his resume. ANd he already beat a who's who of contenders. All he needs is a fight with Mayweather.

Tito has long arms ... they're just so small and have no muscle or definition. They are the size of a LWW or SFW ... he's not fit to be that big.

His body looked good when he fought Mayorga... he still had his 6 pack and his body had filled out properly.

I had brought this up in another thread, thought I would share...

That's one of the points that i'm trying to put out. Cotto fought a lot of green fighters. Now those same green fighters have some more experience and climbed back up the ladder to get a title. Then Cotto gets all this praise for beating current belt holders. I don't give full credit to Cotto for beating the snot out of people on the rise. He has the convincing W, but what would have happened if those guys were ready for Cotto. Mali, I think the outcome would be the same no matter what. But guys like Torres, and maybe Quintana would have a decent chance if they were more seasoned. I am a fan of cotto also, but i have to raise the question about the names on his resume. Impressive, no doubt, but did he 'cherry pick'? debateable.
